at 12:32 PM, Friday August 1, 2008 EDT good idea matt, but we might need to agree if partial month results can be allowed as well (still >50 games and with a screencap as proof). I am just proposing these partial PPG results since some players might choose to play more for rank after a good 50 games PPG and give up on PPG after that stage.
My best so far: May 2008 276PPG 50 games 40th place overall (My best 35 game PPG: July 2008: 428 PPG; 35 games) |

Doesn't change the fact that you played at completely different tables than I did because of your member bonus. Members PPG can be much more volatile than non-members PPG. Just because you are a member doesn't mean you will have a higher PPG and in fact a "bad" member will have a much worse PPG than a "bad" non-member. All I'm saying is that if the same player has a member and non-member account and plays them equally and with equal quality different PPG will result. I'm sure we can math it up... |

at 4:07 PM, Friday August 1, 2008 EDT Oh no , not another discussion about the huge membership advantage of 2500 extra points please! I guess it is still a crime for Ryan to give extra stuff/services in exchange for the membership fee. Shouldn't Ryan be paying us for all the advertisement benefits he gets because we are willing to play his game?
YES it will make a difference of a few places and a few thousands of points in the end of the month. But please don't think your chances for gold or even top25 are dramatically lower just because you didn't have the membership. If you are good you are good, if you are bad, you are bad (sorry). YES the membership will allow you to play 2500 right away... but it also might get even the greatest players to -1000 after their first game. YES not having the membership forces you to play at least 7 games before playing the 500 tables. NO your PPG won't drop from 450 to 150 just because you didn't buy the membership. Lots of members play at least 50 games before they even start thinking about a 2500 game. so PPG = 90% (skill + luck in first games + risks you are willing to take in your first 50 games) + 10% (your membership bonus) But OK, I admit I am just a bit pissed about some people blaming not being a member for their poor score (in previous threads, not blaming anyone here). If it's really such a big of a deal, I don't mind if non-members make a screencap of their stats after they first reach 2500 points. Then post your official PPG and a manual PPG caclulation: (total points - your first score above 2500)/ (number of games - number of games to reach 2500+). |
