I'm sick of the whining

I'm sick and tired of not being able to go a single game without someone accusing someone else of a PGA or arguing back and forth over whether a truce or a flag is more important, or someone cussing someone out because they "didn't respect their flag". I'm sick of sitting down at a table to play a game of kdice but having the chat filled the entire game with an argument over what should have happened the game before.

Why can't people just play the game, take whatever place they got, and then shut up about it????

Shock of all shocks, people seem to disagree on how to play the game. weird. imagine that people would have different strategies and ideals. but what everyone seems to be missing is the whole GAME part. Sure, competition is an important part of a game, but you know what else is???? Having fun!!!

I do, in fact, realize the irony of me whining about people whining, but honestly... im just annoyed by it all. This is my plea for people to enjoy kdice and realize that games will not always go as one would hope and that people don't always do what you want them to. GET OVER IT!

-sorry for the rant

And since you created your own thread now, I will post it here, too:

My dear Debwa, since you are so clever, you also might want to explain to me how you can distinguish a a truce from a PGA (=cheating).

Are you just too naive or simply not creative enough to think of possibilities to make a PGA (=cheating) look like a truce?

Example (1):
Two players are in a PGA, they talk on MSN or whatever IM and decide to cooperate. So they sit in at the same table. First they don't attack each other and bring themselves in a good position. Suddenly, in round three or so they declare a truce... as players always do.
player one: yellow?
player two(pretending to not knowing what's going on): huh?
player one: are we cool?
player two: I think so.
player one: truce then?
player two: yes.

Now, you tell me how all the other players at the table can know that this is a PGA(=cheating)... And please, do give me an answer to that, because people here tend to ignore the arguments they cannot answer easily.

Example (2):
Two players play at the same table and start a conversation in the chatbox. They become friends and from now on it is understood between them that they don't attack each other in the future - they are in a permanent truce. Fair enough, but is that not also some sort of PGA?
And even more interestingly: What can other players do against that "permanent truce" apart from flagging?

And and btw: How is it possible to "having fun!!!" with people who are always cheating?

The bulk of moondusts issues I explained in the other forum. This forum, however, I would like to address the "How is it possible to "having fun!!!" with people who are always cheating?" bit.

First of all, ask the, oh, i dont know, 2 thousand players on kdice that are enjoying themselves and do not cheat. Second of all, am i really to believe that the very small percentage of people that cheat on this game are enough of a reason that kdice is no longer fun? I'm sure i've run across my share of PGAs but I still have a great time. If it is really so awful playing the game with "all those cheaters" i suggest you quit. I hear dicewars doesn't have any PGAs these days.

Personally, I find that all the people yelling, cussing, arguing, and trowing tantrums make the game less fun... not the PGAs, but that's just me.

I think for 1 bad or unfair played game u will loose 10 other, because the people remember u (especially on higher tables).

A problem on higher tables might be, that there are 'networks of sympathy', just because u have played some games with them and u either like their style or not. U never will really smash someones game u like.
