I can't see how the PGA detector is gonna work efficiently for the whole month

Yes, i know you said it isn's a PGA detector, but i couldnt think of anything else to call it...

Certain people play at certain parts of the day. This leads to people who play at the same time playing lots of games together, especially at the bigger tables where there is only one game going at a time. These points add up fast, and this is only going to cause a bigger problem as the month goes on...

The most annoying part of this is when there is only one 2.5k or 10k game going at a time, and you are not aloud to sit with one (or more) person(s), and you end up having to race them to sit down, or not sit at all.

Maybe a happy median would be to shorten the length of the ban, to a week or so, instead of the whole month, or make the point limit higher? -- because i feel like these bans are really gonna wrack up by the end of the month, and if two people happen to have a few good games together, they will trigger the ban and then they will have to work around it for the rest of the month, and if they get more than one, it will really get in the way.

I think the reasoning behind the system is good, but it seems as if it creates more problems then it solves.

(im putting this on its own thread even though i also posted it in Jer's thread)

Raise number of games you use Ryan, only suggestion I have. I am pretty sure me and fin spiked the numbers from 3 good games yesterday and the fact that we both pretty much only play the 2.5k tables. So over the course of the 100+ games we play in a month I am sure 10 will result in one of us having a good correlation.

One other note, I find it amusing that fin spiked for me but not the other way a round. I am fins crutch lololol he will be lost without me ;-)

Keep up the good fight Ryan.

I am just wondering if there already is a top 25 duo that is banned from sitting together yet (or getting close to the limit)? I agree in part with Sam and Pat that there might be a problem because of the small group of players that play the top table but so far it seems it is not posing a problem yet.

I think (and I hope) that I won't be affected by the "avoid friends if possible" detector but i guess you can never be certain. I just think it would be best to wait until obvious duos get banned and see if it either increases safety/honesty/fairness on the top table or wether it just limits fun and playing possibilities for everyone.

One last thing i would like to point out. I know point inflation of last month had its disadvantages too but one thing i liked about it was the higher number of players that tried playing the top table. More tables were active hence it was easier finding a table with a mix of people you know and don't know. The risk of getting crushed by one of the few real pgas around was much lower.

Also, playing with friends or people you know is fun but when you have to play 5-10 high stake games in a row with the same 10 excellent people, it is not always beneficial to your point gains and/or your friend list.

Pat,

You're ideas come off as somewhat self-serving and quite frankly underhanded.

Additionally, while spell check can be a good friend, using the correct English words is also very important (allowed, not aloud; rack, not wrack; and while 'happy median' makes some sense, the phrase is 'happy medium').
