The PGA detector doesn't seem to be working

We were just trying to play at 10k and we ran into a scenario where we literally couldn't get a game sat because of various subgroups that couldn't play together.
I can't sit with Chris, Vohaul can't sit with Pat or Fiero, and I know there are other examples out there. It's hard enough getting a 10k game together now that it's zero sum again, this just makes it even more difficult. I guarantee you everyone would have rather that people just sat... I think the top community is small enough that these "PGA detections" will fire off for people randomly based on a few good games together. |

at 5:26 PM, Tuesday February 12, 2008 EST Fin and me, that is awesome. I love how people think I always try to wreck them then they pop up in Ryan's correlations, same thing happend with leek last month. People might start to think that being a "PGE" is good for their score, especially if that "PGE" is me ;-)
/Sarcasm Good work Ryan, all the effort to keep things interesting in the leaderboard is cool and I like it. ::THUMBS UP:: |

at 5:33 PM, Tuesday February 12, 2008 EST Plus, certain people play at certain parts of the day. This leads to people who play at the same time playing lots of games together, especially at the bigger tables where there is only one game going at a time. These points add up fast, and this is only going to cause a bigger problem as the month goes on...
The most annoying part of this is when there is only one 2.5k or 10k game going at a time, and you are not aloud to sit with one (or more) person(s), and you end up having to race them to sit down, or not sit at all. Maybe a happy median would be to shorten the length of the ban, to a week or so, instead of the whole month, or make the point limit higher? -- because i feel like these bans are really gonna wrack up by the end of the month, and if two people happen to have a few good games together, they will trigger the ban and then they will have to work around it for the rest of the month, and if they get more than one, it will really get in the way. I think the reasoning behind the system is good, but it seems as if it creates more problems then it solves. |

at 5:36 PM, Tuesday February 12, 2008 EST Ryan does the ban trigger off unusually high finish positions (as it should) or just off points won at the same table?

at 5:53 PM, Tuesday February 12, 2008 EST I don't think the 10k games are an issue. More 10k players will come... its only the 12th. And only 50 players have been tagged with this. Let's see how this plays out.
