awe i agree with you! The problem you mentioned is the biggest flaw/annoyance with the current flagging system.

that 6th/7th flag annoyance could be fixed by installing some kind of an autoflag procedure for the last player alive that couldn't gain a position in say 3 maybe 5 turns. I don't mean at the beginning of the game of course, I am not sure yet what would be a fair amount of flags needed to trigger this autoflag but something along the line: " if all but 1st and last flagged" or "if 2+3+4 flag and actually have those positions".

Last (+others too) player should see a warning flag appear so he knows he has 3/5 turns to do someting about his last place soon.

Perhaps if you flagged, and then maintained that rank or higher for the next 3 rounds... it would then retire you.

I say that because it is really frustrating to have given up with 2 8 stacks while 3 large players duke it out for many rounds, but you've got one other guy on the other side of the board with one stack.

Well then, let's say someone only had a single 8 dice restack and want give it a final try, and assume he takes back lots of land and flagged as 2nd right after he's done. Do you think he deserved 2nd?
I say a better way would be like flagged players lose points after they attacking other players. This would have been done and could be a better idea!
