Players getting punished is a joke as it is

I'm really pissed that Leek is banned, or rnd or poo or anybody else for that matter. These punishments are all arbitary and sometimes personal.
Ryan, if you want to set some rules, then set them. I can't see any tournament rules, stating clearly what's forbidden and what are the consequenses. This may be your game, but dedicated players spend so much of their precious time here. Playing for top 10 or even top 25 in a monthly tournament is a big commitment. You just can't move a player from 1st to 100th on day 29 on basis that wasn't clearly announced to us, players beforehand. Show some respect. |

I'm Really Sorry wrote
at 11:04 PM, Thursday January 31, 2008 EST I'm Sorry Ryan,
Ryan, I'm sorry you feel the way you do; I'm sorry I have PGA'd, and I'm sorry that I got caught. I have to tell you though, I have not PGA'd any more than any other player on the high tables since months before I quit the first time in September. I'd like you to take a step back, and remember that you started this fight, this month -- clearly I am sorry about my initial reaction (why would i post publicly like that!); but i've never been known as the most level headed player. I truly am sorry. I believe it is shown clearly in your statistical analysis of inter-player relationships that I am no longer a member of the "Cabal" (whether or not it still exists); and that I have lower correlations with others than many of current top players. Notably: integral, montecarlo, vermont, dasfury, bcmatt, wishbone, riser -- none of these people were matched correlations for me. I don't know exactly what your reason for banning me is; but to do so because I 'play nice' with people like leekstep and yellowfin, two players who have attacked my character fiercely in the past (and you *should* ask them about it), seems a little backwards.. shouldn't I be rewarded for mending these relationships? Honestly Ryan, there are people here who do what you are worried about; groups who gang up on others and cow tip them -- but it's not me. I am sorry that you feel you have to go around KDice 'attacking adam,' as you've put it -- and asking people not to be friends with me; I don't know how we got here. It has now come to my attention that you are now 'attacking adam' to the tune of actively fixing the results of this months competition. I have to strongly protest, and point out that this 'attack' is an affront on your own veracity, and has nothing to do with me. To actively work to change the outcome of the monthly competition without revealing that fact, and the reasons behind it to the general population is probably the most underhanded -- and if you will give me the liberty -- cheating act -- you could possibly do as the leader of this community. I beg you to reconsider forcing montecarlo to MSAK his gold. Thanks for the fun. |

at 3:40 AM, Friday February 1, 2008 EST Ok, as you asked, as a paying member here's my take on it:
1) I didn't pay to play this game, the game is free. I Donated to Ryan in consideration and appreciation of his efforts in making this game and making it free. I felt that deserved some recognition in the form of monetary support. As a result, Ryan doesn't owe me a thing, certainly not a Bill of Rights, were I to "demand" it or not. 2) It's Ryan's party, he sets the rules and if his only rule is "What I say goes." then so be it. If he c0cks it up and p1sses everyone off so they leave, that's his choice and I'm sure he's man enough to face the consequences, i.e. no one playing a game he's lovingly created. 3) Personally I don't like the idea of a Bill of Rights. As soon as you draw a line in the sand, people will push that line and challenge the authority it implies. That's a headache I certainly wouldn't want to deal with myself, why should Ryan? My tuppence worth. |
