Players getting punished is a joke as it is

I'm really pissed that Leek is banned, or rnd or poo or anybody else for that matter. These punishments are all arbitary and sometimes personal.
Ryan, if you want to set some rules, then set them. I can't see any tournament rules, stating clearly what's forbidden and what are the consequenses. This may be your game, but dedicated players spend so much of their precious time here. Playing for top 10 or even top 25 in a monthly tournament is a big commitment. You just can't move a player from 1st to 100th on day 29 on basis that wasn't clearly announced to us, players beforehand. Show some respect. |

at 11:16 PM, Wednesday January 30, 2008 EST Ryan is extraordinarily intelligent when it comes to handling game abuse. I am sorry, but Leek and others play this game in a way that it was not intended. And I am SURE that Ryan is taking the appropriate actions to punish the abusers. It's pretty simple actually... this game was intended for INDEPENDENT play with others. It has become for some people, (who are obsessed) a cultish power struggle in with rediculous demands that only benefit those few at the top. Ryan is a very brilliant guy.

at 2:41 AM, Thursday January 31, 2008 EST Well, It's news to me that Several people, including MikeyPoo, were banned (at some point[?]). But finally, we are speaking up. Ryan, if you haven't got the message, here it is:
We want some answers. Now. I myself will continue to respect your decisions as far as deciding to take some action against something that you don't want damaging your own creation, but this is ridiculous. For once, listen to us. We wouldn't be here without Ryan, but kdice is nothing without the community. It seems like you would know better than to mercilessly eliminate players from the game out of mere accusation, and even then, without a just display of evidence. I think that you've started to be concerned with your control (or lack thereof) of kdice, and now you're trying to make up for it by overestimating your own power. You've been in control all along. We've just been waiting for you to use it correctly and at certain times, and while you have done a lot of good with it (attempt to modify and tweak the scoring system, create the blog, restore the forum, awards, donations, and the ability to hand report anyone with vulgar actions), Yet you've gone too far with banning players who allegedly PGA, keep all the "power" to yourself, and do things the way you want without giving us an explanation. I think we need someone to sort out everything going on, but there's only one person who can really do anything about it, and it isn't rnd, me, kdicefreak, or anyone but you. but that person isn't using that responsibility in the most wise way at this moment. |

at 4:26 AM, Thursday January 31, 2008 EST Uyd I agree that punishment should be fair compared to the crime commited and clear rules might be a big help to know where the grey area ends.
However, I think there are a lot of things that your own selfrespect should be able to help you discriminate between what's bad or wrong. If you yourself can't come up with: * hey, allowing someone to play with my account for like 50 games, that might not be considered as a joke anymore. hmmm and maybe if i find out there were more games played then i originally intended as an actual joke for a few games, shouldn't I inform ryan and ask him to maybe deduct those points in order not to lose my rank entirely. * hey, constanly using im to arrange games might not be the same way as ohter people play * hey, probably not everyone uses proxys to win points so wouldn't that be unfair to the others? If any of those don't seem reasonable to you and you want explicit rules before you think those are unfair playing styles, don't kid yourself you cheat! And why does everyone want warnings or explanations before they get banned . It's not like you get banned because you always want to sit at the red seat!!!! I don't go warning another player at the table that I am about to truce someone and attack him. I might give explanations about it if there is a valid reason but if he is the obvious target, screw explanations, he has to be smart enough to get it that he was in my way!!! Show some common sense. |

I'm not discussing what's fair and what's not. For instance somebody sharing his/her account with somebody else does not bother me. At the end of the day you get points for winning, not playing. I know a lot people who share their accounts with their brothers/sisters. What's the big deal? That's not the point however. Ryan takes Kdice too seriously, however serious tournaments are conducted with certain rules, and those rules don't get changed while the tournament is still in progress. If you want to ban account sharing, then you wait until the month is over, and put that in writing in some section on the site before the new one starts. If you don't agree with the rules, you don't play. Simple as that. |

at 8:20 AM, Thursday January 31, 2008 EST I do love how PGA Monitor, kdicefreak, and CP03 all post as if they can speak in an authoritative perspective. It's as if they think their mindless dribble means shit to anyone outside of their little circle jerk bunch of twat waffles.

Ryan made the rule he can ban people without giving notice. If you don't agree with the rules, you don't play. Simple as that. why can't he intervene during a month? do you think it is more fair to let them stay so you care more about cheater than about honest players that get a worser rank because of it. you gained a rank so why would you care. Makes me wonder... don't defend cheaters, unless you are scared of getting caught yourself. Lots of people have been sanctioned now without prior notice. So i guess the rules are absolutely clear now, you wanted clear rules from Ryan, well here is the entire list that covers everything. NO PORN NO HATE NO CHEATING or you might get banned without prior warning (all the recent banning should be enough warning now no?) However, I also believe in second chances also and personally, it seems to me that people like Integral took the punishment quite well and he tries to pursuade Ryan in a fun and even dignified way. Personally I would give him back his account on probabtion because it seems to me he would clean up his act and badly wants to play his old account instead of creating a new one and restart anonymously. |
