Players getting punished is a joke as it is

I'm really pissed that Leek is banned, or rnd or poo or anybody else for that matter. These punishments are all arbitary and sometimes personal.
Ryan, if you want to set some rules, then set them. I can't see any tournament rules, stating clearly what's forbidden and what are the consequenses. This may be your game, but dedicated players spend so much of their precious time here. Playing for top 10 or even top 25 in a monthly tournament is a big commitment. You just can't move a player from 1st to 100th on day 29 on basis that wasn't clearly announced to us, players beforehand. Show some respect. |

at 5:47 PM, Wednesday January 30, 2008 EST Well the punishment may seem arbitrary this isn't entirely surprising. Considering that for Ryan Public Enemy #1 is rnd, so letting rnd use your account might be a bad idea.
But yeah, I am not a fan of a ton of rules, but some simple concise guidlines with possible examples of behavior that will result in being punished would be nice. To many rules and oppresive enforcement of them would kill the game and the community of players but when order is enforced there should be a general understanding as to why such actions were taken by of the punished. |

at 9:03 PM, Wednesday January 30, 2008 EST cp03, be quiet. Uyd makes a good point and makes it politely, which is more than can be said for most people here.
I think that a published set of rules would really go a long way to helping people understand what's going on. And there's no harm in throwing in a "violating the spirit of these rules will be as bad as violating the letter, so don't try to squeeze through a loophole" kind of notice alongside the rules. |

I asked you legit questions, Jeremy told you to be quiet for wrongly criticizing Uyd and Sam. Hardly an attack, I think. |

I think we have all learned to stay away from the nefarious evil rnd. He really is evil (and brilliant)! Just like Vohaul learned you cant go psycho on Ryan for a scoring change (which basically ruined all the work I did in the first part of the month). I just hop I learned my lesson in time to get my points back! |

at 10:36 PM, Wednesday January 30, 2008 EST I have to agree with a lot of ppl who have commented here...
It's quite disheartening to see players removed for what smacks of a personal attack. I sat in a room as Ryan was tallying PGAS and Mikeypoo came up as one of the only clean players... yet he was banned? I guess what I don't get is how you can take someone -- a top someone who creates excellent drama, plays A LOT of games, donates loads -- and just kill a whole month in one keystroke. No warnings or really a solid reason... Just poof. It makes me sad to think that one person would just kill another person's goal to get a little taste of revenge. It's not that sweet and it's killing this game. And to that end... I think that the players of this game deserve some respect. Ryan has come under some heavy criticism, but I think that is largely due to how things have been handled lately. People are asking for a basic bill of rights -- what is allowed and not allowed. We want some black and white on this instead of hiding in the shadows, wondering when the axe will drop on the next top 25 player who angers Ryan. Vohaul and Integral, Leek and Mikey... who is next? (I'm guessing me, FYI?) As a paying member, I encourage other paying members and donators to speak up. We've essentially paid to be treated this way. And is that cool with you? Not me. |
