at 12:48 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST Can someone explain to me why people hate kdicefreak? As far as I can tell he's just looking for cheaters. The only reason I can see to hate him is that you cheat and don't want it pointed out. Whats the deal?

I hope someday we could play at higher tables like Cleopatra says in the other post. |

at 1:05 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST Because no one likes a self-important, self-appointed hall-monitor. He makes it the point of his existence here to spam the boards with inane accusations. If there is cheating, then certainly you should take action. But the whole shrill vendetta quality of his demeanor is grating and makes the community here unpleasant.

spam grating unpleasant Great words, but they easily describe the people kdicefreak is against. I see a lot of bullying going on to make it unpleasent to post things like this. If i need to stand up for some people on here I definitely will. |

at 2:08 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST I find him kind of annoying, and I hardly play.
It's when he hijacks a thread and says how each and every one of the top players cheat. While this may or not be true, that's not the point. The point is that every last opportunity to point fingers is taken. Make a new forum topic and say it, that's fine. This topic is alright because he didn't take another's thread. He just made his own to talk about enforcing the rules. Once again, that's fine. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc... |

at 2:28 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST Ryan, I don't PGA and I can certainly see why people are annoyed with kdicefreak.
Most players these days, I think, are sensitive towards noticing PGAs or whatever cheating and I can tell you that at least on the 1K/5k tables, the players do a good job of deterring PGA, point farmings, etc... This is relatively easier, of course, because of the smaller pool of players, it's easier to keep track of who crosses the lines of acceptable play. As such, I don't think we see too many problems on the higher tables anymore. (MSAK aside ;) ) Anywho, I read the forums a lot. And it seems to me that kdicefreak made his points a long time ago and as of recently only posts to continue to harp on a problem that has seemed to be addressed. Naturally, anyone who wants to report cheaters should be able to do so, and many have, but kdicefreak isn't even doing this, he's simply saying the same broad statements over and over again "The 'eltist' players hate me because they cheat," "I agree with Ryan, why don't all of you?," etc... It's not that he's doing anything to solve the problem, he simply brings up the tired argument (I can only assume, for the sake of arguing). For instance, this thread he has started has nothing to do with the Favorite Forum Posts of 2007, obviously his intention was more along the lines of saying without actually saying it something like "Hey guys, just so you know, I still think PGA is cheating and Ryan thinks so too." This is neither helpful in solving the problem nor productive in starting any discussions except whether or not PGA is cheating (which, I think, most of us can agree, exists in enough threads as it is.) Essentially, continual whining about something that everyone knows about and everyone has formed their opinions about, combined with generalized attacks on upper-level or older players, contributes nothing to the forum or community but annoyance. Honestly, I'm just trying to provide a reasonable answer to your question, Ryan. And I think there are many players out there who can say they feel the same way, without being accused of PGAing simply because they are annoyed by kdicefreak's actions. P.S. PGA Monitor makes me laugh. |

at 2:35 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST he seems to jump to conclusions that all top 25 cheat and pga endlessly. he has named me several times. however, i dont recall one time that i have played a game with this guy.
in another thread, integral suggested that perhaps you try to implement an ebay-esque trustworthy-rating meter, where we can vote how trustworthy each other are. i love ebays implementation of this, and i only buy from high-rated sellers. if you were to do something similar here with kdice, i think it would work as well. however, my suggestion was to make sure you could only vote on someone if you have played at least a minimum number of games with that person. because if there is no minimum, then i can almost guarantee two things happening: 1) kdicefreak will vote negative on every top 25 player, and 2) every top 25 player will vote negative on kdicefreak. |
