I have a test server running for an updated version of KDice. This is a performance upgrade and it needs a bit of testing before I move it over on Dec 1.
I'd appreciate any help with testing. You'll need to create an account on the test server (it involves an email confirmation now). http://test.kdice.com:8080 |

at 2:30 PM, Sunday November 18, 2007 EST It's mostly performance based.
Non performance based changes include an update to flagging (moving a bit closer to the old way), approx 5 extra areas per map, and an active friends list. So far we've bumped into these bugs: - table doesn't update after you sign in (need to click refresh) - profile link is incorrect - changing avatar doesn't work |

at 3:26 PM, Sunday November 18, 2007 EST definitely needs a bit of work. im using ff 2.0.0.8 in fedora 7
i havent gotten a chance to play a game, but while observing: map was constantly flashing all of the popup divs (signup/signin/map listing/friends list) are partially/completely covered by the map -- i had to back up to the homepage to signup seemed a bit laggy. the game map was getting behind (the worst i saw was that it was three turns behind). dunno if this one is a bug, but the request to /EventService is taking forever to respond -- over 90 secs sometimes |

at 3:54 PM, Sunday November 18, 2007 EST finally got into a game and the lag was terrible. by my first turn (i went last) the map was 4 players behind. the only way i got a turn in was to refresh the page when it was 3 players before my turn.
hopefully this is due to not having as much bandwidth available for the test server. |

at 6:57 PM, Sunday November 18, 2007 EST How do you calculate "lucky/unluckiness"? is there a certain range where, say a 7v2 loss is unlucky, but a 7v5 isn't?

Ryan wrote
at 11:24 PM, Sunday November 18, 2007 EST The luck is based on the probabilities of winning rolls. If you have 90% chance of winning its considered only a little bit lucky if you win and a lot unlucky if you lose.

at 12:07 AM, Monday November 19, 2007 EST Is there going to be a "mouse over" feature that counts the # of dice, or a feature that makes dice transparent so we can see if land is dis/connected or not, in case the dice is obscured?
Also, if you have some time and feel like it, can you please make our profiles show what tables we are playing on. It get's a bit annoying to keep coming to the forums, finding our last post, and then checking to see which table we were playing on before a lag. |
