Time for a social (no points awarded) table?

its getting harder to even get on a 10 pt table. And the last one I got on had two players whose rankings were over 1900 and two others with rankings over 700. It seems some players are avoiding the 200 and 1000 pt tables because they don't like to risk their ratings or they want to pick on the newer players. (Given that the 1900+ guys dont attack each other much and prolong the end, its seems like they are padding their stats too.)

For those who have rating over a 100 (so we can't play on the 0 pt tables) and have no aspirations of climbing into the top 1000 rankings, how about creating a 'just for fun' table with no ratings and no points awarded? You could have beginner, average, and expert levels. Some experts might still pick on the beginners, but I'm guessing that without the incentive of racking up rating points that there would be fewer bullies.

Given that these guys aren't using the 200 point rooms, it seems like they could be sacrificed for the cause.

JDK,

If the table were anonymous then truces, counter truces, and all that would have a very difficult time forming. They would simply be tactical decisions about whom to attack and whom not.

The only way they could be perceived is by actions and if other players notice that two colors are not attacking each other and plan their strategy accordingly, then so be it.

The difference is, it is a game by game strategic, situational decision whom you attack and don't attack. The very next game the two people who did not attack one another, may be fighting each other. Of course, they would have no way of knowing this.

In current game play I *know* kissygirl isn't going to be attacking nuflis as long as there are other players who aren't "in the club" to attack, etc. If kissygirl had no way of knowing which color nuflis was… Well then she would have to make her decisions based on tactical strategy instead of social strategy.

No offense Kissygirl and nuflis, I just grabbed two relevant names for my analogy.

Idea...If you have 200+ points you shouldn't be able to play 10 tables, 1k+ you shouldn't be able to play 200 tables, 5k+ no 1k tables, I think that might be a little more fair. Or maybe I just need some sleep. The social table idea, I'm for it :)
