Vohaul had it right.
It's pretty much over.
I got up there pretty high in score when I used to play a lot. Loved every minute of it. But then the rules changed. Took a long time to get the score back up and then the rules changed agian. And again. And again.

Ryan you had the rules right before but you went and fucked it all up.

Goodbye everyone I used to have a blas with. And good luck everyone that wants to keep starting over.

Empire.

(as if anybody knows me)

It's not that people can't take the change, it's that people DON'T LIKE THE NEW GAME.

Doesn't make the game, or the variant rules "bad", just less pleasurable. You really gonna tell me you like EVERY variety of solitaire equally? But, nevertheless, each has its fans... So too with kdice.

The odd bit to me is that ryan et al. will admit that the old system (or even the new) is imperfect, and constantly evolving, then also* hold to the idea that "there can be only one".

Give respect when people leave - it TRULY is not that they couldn't adjust to new rules, just that the new rules are less "fun". For them. For folks who only care about how far out of first they are, the rules of the game itself matter little. For the rest of us, it's kind of an important thing.

OK,

A - This sort of thing happens all the time. It's like Eastenders but for people who hate soaps and love drama.

B - Like most lemmings, one jumps and you're bound to get a few that follow. It's just more fun than looking over the edge.

C - Empire is fully aware of why he/she has decided to leave. Undoubtedly it is because of his/her dislike of the new rules, system etc, but (to my utter astonishment), a very valid point was made by _o/_ - and that is that there really isn't any need for the big wah-wah. If you don't like a site, game, job, house, life, car, bird, bloke, pub, tv show - just fucking leave.

As much as these places are a community, noone will continually try to keep you a part of something you have said you no longer want to be part of - that's the beauty of the internet.

So good luck Empire, hope you do well and all that - but more than like you'll be back under a different name sooner than the contents of this thread have been read by someone who has absolutely no idea of who you are.

If you really want drama, you could sign in under my ident and start a real shitstorm.

Now THAT i would pay to read.

People say goodbye for a reason - it's a helpful hint for the next time you wonder where they are. Agreed, drama should be minimized... But, if everyone "just left" all the time, even just online, then the community itself would be a much less rewarding experience. People come and go, acknowledge both with a smile, and less chip-on-shoulder. You'll make out great!

The more that I read his posts, the more I come to realize that Brubaker is the most sanctimonius git I have observed in a very, very long time.

I'm back playing again for the first time in 6 months and I'm with you empire. Plus, where have all the idiot angry players come from? They all seem to have profiles that begin in jan 09 so I'm assuming they're the same 3 or 4 pricks on multiple accounts.

I'm going to give it another few weeks but i reckon i might be following you.
