Crazy attacking in the new game

I'm sorry to say this because I know Ryan and others are trying to make the game better.
In the new game, people are encouraged by the flagging system to attack like crazy and if it works then they win and if it doesn't they can just flag and try again in the next game. I was never great strategically, but this new game is just like slot machines. There is no strategy left. For me, all the fun has been taken from playing. The games are short and brutal and mainly based on luck. If you have a bad start in this game, you are just dead. There is almost no chance to work your way back. |

at 8:35 AM, Tuesday September 4, 2007 EDT I agree with kissy that the new version lost a lot of previous strategical and social subtleties, but gained pace and dynamic. It became more a "casual lunch-break game", as someone wrote.
The old version could have become a big part of someone's life. This was why I decided to stop playing it at the end of July - it was too addictive. So for me its good - as a casual game I may play it from time to time ;) |

at 10:36 AM, Tuesday September 4, 2007 EDT Rnd, when someone makes a coherent, reasonable, post about how they feel about the game and differences caused by the changes, you don't need to be so caustic in return.
There is nothing wrong with a reasonable discussion, even if they are disagreeing with, well, you. Now, some of these posts are along the lines of "THIS SUCKS. I hate it. I quit and you all are idiots." In thoses cases, please ramp up your causticity (new word!) and let them have it. And by the way, YOU SUCK. I hate you. I hope you quit, and you are an idiot. That is all. |

at 10:59 AM, Tuesday September 4, 2007 EDT I agree with Kissy... this new game is less strategy and more effing nutso moves.
Which is why RND loves it... My first few games I was 5v5ed out of the game within 2 rounds. I don't enjoy a game that I pay points for, but don't get a chance to actually play. I agree the old game had a different game flow, but at least you typically made it a few rounds before getting blown out of the game. At the very least one thing still remains rom the old dice... RND sucks. Love ya K-baby |

at 1:54 PM, Tuesday September 4, 2007 EDT The new system basically sucks.
Games are over after 2 rounds - at least you know by then who will win if he doesn't lose some unlikely rolls. There is no strategy. Everybody expands as fast as they can and hope for a lucky restack - and actually that is the only strategy there seems to be. With the fast games, chatting is obsolete. The game has lost its social part. A change for the worse in many respects IMHO. |
