I just think a game with cheaters (and people who let them cheat) is not so funny

i know at least twenty other people who believe the same thing. but not me. whenever it came to fun games among friends, where there all pgas were cancelled, i would get around 3rd on average. integral, rnd, and luck usually outperformed me on a consistent basis. the only way i see you beating them with no one cheating is if you play an order of magnitude higher number of games to make up for your deficit of strategy. same with me. its okay to admit you arent the best. |

at 12:08 PM, Tuesday August 14, 2007 EDT I agree that integral rnd and luck are great.
Its hard to guess where I would finish against them on average in fair games, because I rarely ever played them when nobody was cheating. You're good too Monte. There are over a dozen good players who could make runs into the 2200s if they were playing anonymously. It would probably come down to amount of games played to determine the winner, or lucky timing of somebody to string together the most wins at high elo. |

If by â€cooperation with other players that is not revealed in the chat box or basic strategy†leek means that I treated different players differently and that I was treated by different players differently, than he was obviously right. I did treat different players to some degree differently and I was treated by different players differently. But: such differences were the result of ONLY past games and past chats in the kdice chat box. But: I think such differences are legitimate part of the game. We are here back in the old discussions from the old Forum threads. I am afraid of being misunderstood here, as the issue is a little subtle, so I will just make a few statements: 1) Building friendships and good relationships with other players is a legitimate part of the game; 2) Friends may fight each other, friends may cooperate with each other – depending on the situation during a given game, but for sure they understand each other better than two random players. 3) PGA is when two or more players sit intentionally at one table with the purpose of helping each other win, or helping one of them win (or not to lose much) 4) For sure my results would be worse if I play anonymously with anonymous players – but kdice is not an anonymous game, it is also a social game. Unless we define the basic terms (like PGA etc) more precisely, we may easily misunderstand each other in discussing such issues. |
