I just think a game with cheaters (and people who let them cheat) is not so funny

Riser's cheating was the primary catalyst in me leaving the game.

After I caught riser proxying red-handed and was unable to resolve the matter, thats when me and WayneRooney started to fight fire with fire.

I am so glad that something was finally done about it. I think there should be a more active system of regulating fairness in this game.

Perhaps have a list on everyone's profile that cannot be edited, where mods can label people that arent doing well.
If riser's profile had a note from all of the moderaters "this guys cheats with misery and gameofdice and others", then ryan wouldnt need to go in each case and make a decision to penalize them.

If Ryan doesnt want the moderators to alter the scores for the cheaters who use PGA, IM, or proxy...
...the least he could do is let the moderators place permanent warnings against people who IM PGA or proxy.

I guess it would be hard to pick fair moderators, though, because all of ryan's closest friends and basically anyone who ever finished in the top 25 is massively guilty of using PGAs IMs and/or proxies.

Who actually cares anymore?

Pretty much every online game, there is extensive cheating. Its almost impossible to stop without false positives.

I, and probably most people, play purely for personal satisfaction. I don't think anybody thinks that the #1 player is any more of a man, or any more skilled than the rest. Chances are, he's just got more time on his hands.

leekstep -
- I had been in top 25 from March to July. I was 19th, 4th, 6th, 5th and 3rd. I was able to have 18-23% 1'st places and 7-11% 7'th places at that time.
I didn't PGA, I didn't IM, I didn't use proxies.
I just played with the people who were at the 2k tables at any given time (some games during the day, European time, most in the late evening, European time)
I played, using tactics, strategy and talking with people in the chat.

And I am sure there were others in top25 group, who played the same way. I may look at the results of the monthly competitions and give quite a few names, if there is such need.

So don't say "basically anyone",maybe "many" would be a better word?

But for sure at that time (March-July) I was not able to get to the 1'st place in this way. I was not able to have more than 30% firsts, nor 5% lasts, nor save above 2300 elo for a period of many games.

One more thought - the way you phrased your post leek you basically tell canarioz: "We are all cheaters, but some are more effective"

Sadly this becomes more prevalent every step up the elo ladder. I would gladly pay a monthly fee to play this game if Ryan used some of the monies to pay people to look over games for PGA's, etc. and ban the offenders.

I'm with Cleo, I placed 17th in March with a good first %, and I didn't cheat. I quit playing halfway through April.

Cleo you dont have to defend yourself from me.
I have explicitly stated many times that I think you are the top player who never really crosses the line.

I give you credit for not using IMs, proxies, or blatantly over-using PGAs. That said you seem to have cooperation with other players that is not revealed in the chat box or basic strategy.

I think a well-coordinated kDice community should try to identify and punish any pregame allegiances, even subtle ones like you use.

As for me not being a successful cheater-
I spent two thirds of a month in first place without arranging to sit with friends, without using proxies, etc. I just sat and played as often as I could.

Then I caught riser cheating redhanded, reported him, and nothing was done about it.

Then I caught other people cheating and using proxies, and nothing was done about it. I saw Sinth repeatedly broadcasting his IM in order to talk to people without using the chatbox. Sinth also admitted to PGA with rnd and Artimis.

Pretty soon the competitiion for first came down to riser (cheater), Sinth (cheater), and me and WayneRooney (who began to cheat together to beat the other cheaters).

I saw how stupid it was trying to keep first place in an unregulated system.

I know I can finish first without cheating, as long as nobody else is cheating.

I will take a look at the new scoring system and the cheating abuse system, and I might start playing again.

I posted comments on Riser's profile before, identifying the accounts that he cheats with, but riser was able to delete my posts from his profile. I think the kdice community could effectively punish cheaters if a few moderators had a procedure to post noncompetitive behavior on the profiles.

Stop lying, leek. If you want to relentlessly accuse me of PGAing with Artimis, that's your prerogative. But don't pretend I agree with you.

As I've said many times, I only PGA'd with rnd.

What i dont like about the placement system is that the person that invests most time gets the best placement. And not everyone has the time to play several hundred games per month. I dont have that time.
Cheating only doesnt get you 1st place. You have to invest much time as well.

I personally dont see any sense in cheating since that kills all the fun. Because the real fun lies in a true competition with equal weapons. To find out who is most skilled player.
