2000 elo gap

Upon reaching the 2300 elo point, it becomes increasingly hard to get elo. After a 2nd, I recently received only +2. It wasn’t that I had played badly, it was just that I was playing too low elos.
Last month, there were numerous posts begging for 1700 tables, or for some way to reduce the gap between the 1500/1800 tables. After working up other accounts to the 1800’s, I found a similar thing. I would get to 1770’s, and start losing elo far faster than I could win it. Many people found that similarly discouraging, and eventually the new 1500/1600/2000 tables were implemented. I have noticed this effect on the 2000 tables now. With a 2300 elo, or even Rooney’s 2400 elo, only a first or a second will ensure +X in elo. Sitting a 23xx account with 20xx is somewhat similar to sitting an 1800 with a 1500’s. This gap is even larger than the gap that caused last month’s outcry. Playing with such high gaps causes other problems to occur. I know that the new scoring system will be in place next month, so I do not even know if this post will be relevant, but I would like to shed some light on the problem. I hope I’m not being elitist here, asking for 2200 tables, but it’s becoming somewhat of a necessity. |

at 12:42 AM, Saturday July 28, 2007 EDT I think the game would be a lot more fun without table minimums. (Get rid of the 2000, 1800, and 1600 tables.)

at 2:24 PM, Friday September 28, 2007 EDT Electric Light Orchestra, also known as ELO, were a rock music group from Birmingham, England that released twelve albums between 1971 and 1986, and one album in 2001. The band's direction and focus for most of its history was driven by Jeff Lynne.
The group's name is an intended pun based not only on electric light (as in a light bulb as seen on early album covers) but also using "electric" rock instruments combined with a "light orchestra" (orchestras with only a few cellos and violins that were popular in Britain during the 1960s). |
