I really don't like the new system. Anyone with me?

at 4:10 PM, Wednesday February 14, 2007 EST I find the new one much better, i.e. I saw somebody just sitting in corner and then get 2nd and minuspoints, why I was active in same game and got plus. The 1600-tables now have much more action than the 1900s used to have.

at 8:45 PM, Wednesday February 14, 2007 EST New system just takes a little to get used to. I must say, though, the change should not have been so radical.
I got surrounded and kept artificially alive just so I would lose points. What happened to playing for survival rather than some silly dominance measure? |

at 3:54 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST I miss one thing in a new system: when, at the start, players were waiting for neighbours, not starting exploring from heir big towers. With the new rules everybody spreads as quick, as possible, and only the luck decides, who is better. Pity.

You still benefit from waiting for the other to spread first, and then to take him. |

at 6:33 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST OK, may be i'm wrong. But somehow the game loses all pleasure. Please, look, with what rules (old or new) winner less dependents on the first turn time (seems, that 6th and 7th now have no chances).

at 7:00 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST winner is not determined by first turn, altough the first ones are important it all depends how you can position yourself.
Strategies I can sometimes do successfull: * use chat! * try to get outside of fights, try to get other involved into fights themselves. This involves getting a position where you are not in the way. * I notice that most players have the "connectionitities". They often try to connect at whatever price this makes: ** their turns very predictable. ** lets you choose countries that are not inbetween the same color ** if you have this, destroy one of these, so he will not overrun you trying to connect. Really people overvalue connection. its just good as well concentrating on one field with a higher dice tower, and grow from there in to favorable table position, ignoring connecting. |

at 7:03 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST Holmes i got to know you a little for the times we played the old system together.
the only point that really matters is that Ryan chaged the system to somthing acceptable. I had some struggles adjusting to it too. but overall i have to say the new system actually is better. It leaves more place for different suces strategies and removes focus off from begging for being alive. I trust in your cleverness to be able to adept to the new system fast. i started off to have to play 2 games at 1400 tables too before i finally started rising to where i feel where i belong. My advice. Keep ggod remembrance of the old system as a dear friend to you it wont come back. In fact it was never gone for its still half of your score. Get to know that other new half and develop ways to make use of your knowledge about them both. If you cant do that just ignore your scoring all it keeps you from is entering the elite which in contrary to you already took that step. Dont fall behind in development. the world wont stop spinning. good luck. his Madness |
