Dom Score Change and Other Updates
Posted By: Ryan at 10:54 AM, Monday September 1, 2008 EDT
I'm still working on multi table tournaments and hope to test them this month to go live next. But I managed to get a few updates in for this month including an important but slight change to dom scoring.

In short: dominance scoring increases in value as the game goes on (but still caps off to avoid farming). The effect is that if you're knocked out early you will get less dom points than if you were to hang on for a bit (all things being equal). The goal of this change is to make comebacks a little more lucrative. Watch the dom meter and you'll see how things change.

Other small changes:
- chat box word wrapping fixed
- some db optimizations
- dom fixes for suicides (commit previous turn dom at end of round)
- sitting during game bug fixed
- dom max is 1/2 size of map
- new all player leaderboard (see top 25->click more)
- map sizes based on normal distrbution with a mean of 35 and a standard deviation of 4 ( most maps will be around 35 +-4 with some outliers)
- fixed a bug that caused tables to lock up

only 2 problems with the new dom is that there is absolutely no reward for a quick and decisive win, and if for some reason you get an unlucky start and go out in the first 2 rounds, which does happen, you lose more points then you just gained from your 6 round win
