Many (some probably good) ideas get quickly forgotten, if they do not get enough votes in the time-span they are "recent", and thus on the top.

My suggestion: for every user viewing the idealist, take 3 existing ideas and rank them on the top, (call them the "ideas spot") So people have a chance to view them, and to vote them upward.

Now if an idea has gotten below the top 20 and not recent, almost nobody will ever view it again.

That's a good idea. I'd also like to have the ability to delete my own ideas. Just found a previous idea submitted that's the same as one I just entered.

Guess I just have to look more carefully next time!
