First player wins most of the time.

then make it a best of 3-7 round 2player tourney. np to me about.
first player challenges 2nd players with an offer and selects best of $oddnumber at $dateinthefuture if the challenged agrees they got set that tourney if he disagrees he simply rejects the tourney and offers a different setup.
To reduce the repetition of this process they could talk about and agree on that beforehand.

Why limit it to 2 players? Allow setting up private tournaments where each participant contributes points and the standard split parcels these points back out at the end.

involving score would ask for anyone to exploit that to set up matches. like having all my alts deliberately losing to my main at the end of the month. thats why.

In what way would a 2-player game be "a kdice way"?

A 2-player game would simply be a dice throwing competition. What's kdice without having yellow scream WTF and suicide his armies into you, while red and blue--PGA's from the start--chip away at your 1-stacks.

2 players with a disgreement should just join a 7-player game and play Kdice in all its glories!
