Do Room Requirements change during the day?

Room I was playing in went from 1700 to 1600. Is that common place or are the new rooms going to be 1500, 1600, and 1900?

And I'm beginning to think that the gap won't go away by itself but causes itself: I mean, that people keep playing to get over the 300-points-away-mark which we all know it's hard to do and therefore there are never enough people with rankings to allow to make 100-300-gaps to be 200-200-gaps. Has anyone understood that? It's hard to explain, never mind ;).
