Some tables used have are too uneven and have too many small pockets where an initial advantage of 4 dice can cause a landslide.

The game is luck based as it is (with the dice and all) without the tables coming into the picture.

Well, part of the game is the setup, you have to accept that in some games some players will have the advantage, and during the starting part of the game you have to be able to identify those advantageous areas and work towards capturing that first for the initial advantage. If you can't, there is always the option of revealing to the other players that player X will gain a significant advantage unless he is stopped now, and you can gang up on him and wipe him out, or at least cripple him so that his advantage is nulled.

i agree with you ranon. the initial start position is more often than not unfair to one or two players (how could you have 3 connected territories with two of them have a 4/5 stack)?

the other frequent worse start is you have 4 territories in the 4 far corners......how could you even play?

the weird maps make this even worse.
