at 11:14 AM, Thursday December 7, 2006 EST Theres a bug on the kdice server that I'm working on fixing. Its a memory leak and about once every 24 hours the server gets low on memory and starts swapping memory to the hard drive which slows things down a lot. When it happens I restart the kdice server.
I hope to solve this problem today. |

at 1:38 PM, Thursday December 7, 2006 EST it's happening way more often than once every 24h. once it happens, table freezes (including chat). sometimes (rarely) it works when I reopen the page in another tab (content in the old one is still frozen), but then it works for less then a minute and I can't connect at all. then for some time I can connect to kdice.com, but tables are not working... and finally I can't even load the page while pointing my browser to kdice.com. Some html is loading (the index with frameset specified), but that's all.
btw... I'm pinging dice.com and gwt.dice.com and it's exceptionally steady: 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=1 ttl=48 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=2 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=3 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=4 ttl=48 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=5 ttl=48 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=6 ttl=48 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=7 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=8 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=9 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=10 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=11 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=12 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=13 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=14 ttl=48 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=15 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=16 ttl=47 time=201 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=17 ttl=47 time=200 ms 64 bytes from tom.liviant.com (69.93.247.144): icmp_seq=18 ttl=48 time=201 ms |

at 1:41 PM, Thursday December 7, 2006 EST I've found out the problem is bots from UK hitting the site. I'm using a firewall to block them.
