at 9:57 AM, Thursday March 7, 2013 EST naw, he was an asshole, but he was better than the alternative, and atleast he was democratic
he didn't even destroy the TV channel that openly sided and helped the coup attempt against him. Imagine if MSNBC or Fox news declared for a military coup attempt against obama, they would never be alowed to broadcast again and its leaders would probably be executed for treason, or at least locked up for life. I think he tried hard to make it better for the common people, and probably help himself at the same time, but it is diffuclt to do it in venezuela. There was and still is high crime, loads of corruption and lack of many goods. It is diffucult to combat corruption when the corrupt are in power. and everything else is difficult to do when the powerstructure is rotten and corrupt at its core. |

at 2:05 PM, Thursday March 7, 2013 EST MRK you know that the voter rolls grew from 8 million to 20 million under Chavez right? That means 12 million new voters were added after he was initially elected.
Mass support or mass fraud? I'll let you decide. |

at 3:32 AM, Friday March 8, 2013 EST strange bc according to wikipedia the voter turnout in 2012 was 14 million while in 1998 it was 6.5 million,
percentage of people voting went from 63 % to 80%. What he has done is to encourage grassroots movements to increase political participations (also helping himself bc poor people tend to vote leftwing). every international organization have concluded that there is no voterfraud going on........ even the ones that claim chavez is undemocratic. |
