So I was in a match where I was 4 people left with everyone allied with 1st except me. I got some good rolls and got it to where we hat equal spaces.
1st was weakened so I thought that the people who flagged 1st before might go against past flag and attack 1st to get a better position. That did not happen. 1st got some good rolls and I got 4th. I asked why they didn't attack red when he was weak for a better position? there answer was that they flagged and it was against the rules. I then looked at the rules and saw nothing stating that it was. Just Do not use pornography avatars Do not harrass people Do not use hate language or avatar Game-to-game favors or alliances are not allowed Play only one account at a time so that begs the question. why do people follow a player made rule? |

at 5:03 AM, Monday January 28, 2013 EST A flag usually means that you surrender to the person you flag to. It is not a rule but a common perception. There are many interpretations on the inclusions of that surrender.
1) Some think that when you flag a person, you ought to finish with a lower rank than that person. These people usually will defend the person they flagged to, as they go down with it. This moves a flag close to a truce with the difference that the winner whom you flagged to does not have to help you at all. 2) Some think, it is ok to watch the person you flagged to die. You can go for a higher position then. 3) Big discussions arise for the question if flags are transitive. I. e. if A flags B and B flags C, does that mean A flagged C? There is no agreement on this point. 4) It is widely agreed that once you flagged a person you may not attack it again. The exception is when you get the permission of that person to fight for your rank. The only other exception is the winner behaving like a complete dork and the table revolting against him. This will give the winner last. 5) Truces break flags. If there is a truce, the winning truce will give each other the highest positions, regardless of any flags. This is also widely accepted. 6) Some people argue, that in love and war all is fair. Thus no. 5 is not valid and you should go for a higher rank if you got a shot. It is true, that there is no written rule, but you get a reputation of backstabbing, i. e. attacking after flagging. In consequence your future surrenders will be ignored and you will be killed rather than giving you a chance to backstabb. This is a strategic decision you have to make for yourself. I hope this helps a bit. None of this is official or written, it is just my interpretation and perception after a couple of years. |
