Ryan using Crack and Perl to us rolls multiple times. Reuse is faster than starting rnd() again and computation time is limited. Reversing short words (4 digits) is easy to test passwords... Simple as that.

chance of a 3-digit attack roll being reversed by the defender is 1/216. chance of it happening 2x in a row is 1/46656. I would bet that curtis has had over 100,000 rolls in his kdice career. it would be stranger if this had NEVER happened...
