at 5:49 AM, Monday August 13, 2012 EDT The rules that I would like for sharing would be roughly like this:
* no sharing except for fun reasons so no sharing to cheat, funnel points or to go for medals * no sharing of mains, certainly not accounts above level 40 or 50 * if an account is shared, write on the wall who has access and keep that info up to date. If that info is accurate, for me it would be a very good protection against being banned by me. * if you want to transfer an account to someone, find a Kdice mod to OK it (or ask in the forum) and post the change of ownership on your wall So I would love to allow sharing (with some restrictions) but the problem is a few people couldn't draw the line in the past and a few others will abuse it in the future as well so they ruin the fun for everyone else. That's why officially the rule on sharing still is no sharing. period. It's simple, no discussions. just like Rob, I'm not really investing much energy into catching sharing but if I see it or have very reliable evidence, I will probably still ban it. |

at 6:15 AM, Monday August 13, 2012 EDT An idea I had to try as an experiment was this:
* still only sharing of fun of course, I wouldn't mind if white medals were won though * we create a shared accounts thread in the forum * if you want to share an account, you post who has access to an account * you also keep the list of people who share an account up to date on the top of your wall * mods have the right to veto certain sharing duos or to ask an account from being played extra in the month (will be posted in the forum and on the account's wall) * if you announce the sharing in the forum and keep the sharer's list up to date + respect the only for fun restriction, you would be 99% protected from being banned. If no one reads a demand from a mod to stop playing in the forum for a few days, bans would happen of course. * this system relies on the willingness of everyone to check their walls and that forum thread from time to time, and also to respect minimal control from the mods. my biggest fear with this fragile system is this though: A and B announce sharing on account C A and B have a bit of legal fun on C to create a smokescreen when it matters, A cheats with A and a proxied C (telling everyone at the table he is B with no one suspecting anything) |
