He's got a link to a Heritage Foundation rebuttal as well. Was interesting to see some of that broken down per presidency to really compare.

About the Heritage rebuttal, the Forbes article says;

Of course, the Heritage Foundation is having none of it, attempting to counter the actual numbers by pretending that the spending initiated by the Bush Administration is the fault of Obama. As I understand the argument Heritage is putting forth ?and I have provided the link to the Heritage rebuttal so you can decide for yourself? Marketwatch, in using the baseline that Obama inherited, is making it too easy on the President.

But then, ***with the Heritage Foundation being the creator of the individual mandate concept in healthcare only to rebut the same when it was no longer politically convenient***

***emphasis mine***

The individual mandate has not been rebutted as advocated by Republicans. Individual mandates are allowed at the state level. The issue is whether it is allowed at the federal level.

My take is that the individual mandate at the federal level is allowed only in D.C., the territories, and on Indian lands because these are the only places where there is federal police power or federal special powers.

Nice try, though.

Haha....the figures are based on percentage increase or decrease from prior years. So Obama, who won the presidency by outcrying against Bush's wild spending (amongst other things), mildly increases on the highest year of all-time (Dubya's last year) and maintains that historically high level for his entire term and I'm supposed to be happy about that?

Ahhh, but good job waking up the forum Nate!

In the end it doesn't really matter to me.....both candidates suck again, just like in '08.

This gives the raw data:

A trend analysis of the line doesn't support a slowdown of spending under Obama.

To get a better handle on the recent trend line, when you have called up the chart in the last post, you will notice the specification "Range: Max". Click on the "Max" and select "10 year" from the menu.

Shit be broken, social issues drive politicians on one aisle too far to the right and the left is spineless.

Also no one in power really wants to curb spending, otherwise the Ryan budget or more likely a similar budget that included ending some of the Bush era tax cuts would have passed.

Fuck everyone in DC, seriously. The worst part is our Government is still better than rest of the worlds. GG Humanity.

I don't know...I'm not super familiar with everyone else's, but there might be some better, perhaps in that there Scandinavia part of the world.
