Deer & Nexon: tourney collusion...

Simply reporting an abuse that occurred at the 1k final. Deer & Nexon intervened in what every other player seemed to see as independent fights & handed out places, leaving players baffled and upset.
I played at other tables that finished earlier, and can only attest to 'leo' something in the first round by the unanimous 'wtf is this.' Then, at the second table, I saw one of them intervene on the other's behalf as a 4-5 fight was occurring. Afterwards they proceeded to exacerbate the offense, trying to give the other [can't remember who was who in this arrangement] 2nd and kill off flagged players who had been sitting and were separated by a bottleneck. Only after much of my chiding, and the collective perspective that they were eliminating players from tournaments via their collusion... Or 'PGA', did the protected player flagout 4th as the game lingered on due to the bottleneck, attracting more players to see the 'final table' of that round. Without the oversight of other players in the tourney they'd undoubtedly have continued with the offense. It's a typical problem and sad to watch. It turns off newer players or those that don't play this game as frequently; it's bad for kdice growth. In a tourney where you get eliminated it's gross to watch - I wasn't the victim here, but it was so blatant and prickish that I believe they deserve temporary bans. Likely nothing will come of this, but since I said I would post something here it is. |

at 3:27 AM, Wednesday February 1, 2012 EST thanks for reporting but you are right, nothing can really come out of this...even though what you and others saw was probably unfair. I would need tons of eyewitnesses to be able to ban this without screencaps or videorecordings. I'm sorry but that's the standard I try to keep.
I was busy elsewhere and barmat reported this problem to me so as soon as I heard of it, I was there to watch. Sadly enough, they didn't play the same tables anymore after that and deer got elmiminated. This is why I am asking Ryan over and over to store the game info, even if only for a day. Game replays are vital to be able to judge well on such things. I'm willing to spend time looking into old games but first I need the data. What you did was very good there : call them out and open other people's eyes + force them to stop the colluding. It's even better than a ban since it affects the outcome of the tournament directly. Kdice will always have to rely on a bit of autogovernment like that. |

I found this particularly interesting: "This is why I am asking Ryan over and over to store the game info, even if only for a day. Game replays are vital to be able to judge well on such things. I'm willing to spend time looking into old games but first I need the data." I'd be curious as to how to draw judgments given tacit agreements and the subtlety a chat-box may provide; however, hopefully people would only bother to go at length to post a formal complaint when it's an apparent wrongdoing or overly suspect collusion. It could also give references for people to understand what's acceptable and would inform the moderators to become more incisive in their decisions to temporarily ban or separate players. The trickiest element would be to consider the perspective of a 1st time player... wonder how many get turned off quickly. If there are developments to in-game oversight be sure to highlight the thread to inform the players. I think it could have a positive effect if navigated with due consideration; there may be complications. It could be a process. If not, que sera sera. |

at 8:38 AM, Wednesday February 1, 2012 EST i've seen it 2.. without posting any statement in chatbox or somewere. it wasnt the first time for nexon and deer.. had same problem on 2k tables several times..
In my opinion there are a lot of those monthly top 100 players pgaing every day, and if there's a lock they use alt accs and keep on fucking peoples game just to prevent getting them in top 100 if there wont come a promptly solution kdice will be going 2 die meanwhile, because people are annoyed, and quit playing.. |

at 1:01 PM, Wednesday February 1, 2012 EST I saw a lot of PGA activity this month, and guess thats just the way it is on 500 & up tables. I have to decide whether to stay below that, or read more, or join one of the gangs. Can I join your group Monte?
