Oh, it's a Fox News article-- it must be well-written and unbiased.

spin aside

Obama ran for office calling Bush unpatriotic and irresponsible for raising the debt ceiling from 5trillion to 9trillion.

Current debt ceiling being requested by Obama? 16.4trillion.

You can do the maths. The rest of the article is the fox spin

without resorting to hyperbole Bush is among the worst Presidents in US History, in the company of Van Buren, Harding, Taylor, Harrison, Hoover, Tyler, Ford, Fillmore, Buchanan, Nixon, and Reagan.

And it's not just me who thinks so, U.S. News poll ranked Bush among some of the worst President while in contrast Obama was ranked in the top 15.

Admittedly it's hard to assess the impact of an administration until many decades afterwards but I'm pretty confident historians will look back on George W. Bush's legacy and Presidency and say "this was the beginning of the United States' demise"

LOL at your list not including Jimmy Carter. You're such a partisan homer. It's one of the things in life I can always rely on.

Carter gets a bad rap Thrax, he was rather weak and overall wasn't great but much that was wrong at the time were factors outside of his control and I think it is more partisan to list him as an all time worst President than it is to omit him from a list of the 7 worst.

Veta, kinda funny to tout Obama as top 15, what that makes him in the 70th percentile of US presidents? Cool a C average just what we need right now....

Did he really call Reagan one of the worst Presidents ever? You may not agree with what he did, but he was an effective leader during the Cold War; not an insignificant time period in our country's history. Reagan had to deal with many of the same challenges that Carter did but, right or wrong, was far more successful.

Wikipedia actually has a nice summation of many presidential rankings and you can sort on specific ones or on the aggregate:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States

Reagan is nowhere near the bottom. Not a single ranking had him worse than 26th, with some significantly higher.

Even Bush has nine Presidents that currently rank below him (and only a few spots behind Clinton which surprised me.) As someone else mentioned it's far too early to make an accurate assessment, so that could move up or down over time.

To continue using Reagan as an example, his earlier rankings were much lower. As historians looked back on the time period and his role he has steadily climbed. (In 2008 the NY Times ranked him 8th...hardly a bastion of conservative/republican thinking.)
