I just saw a poster for The Chroniclese of Narnia and was wondering when Thraxle got famous for about 5 seconds.

That is all.

Thraxle: When someone says "I'm a democrat", I immediately assume they're on welfare.

This belongs here since it's the funniest thing youve said

I always found that logic amusing when typically blue states are "giver states" and red states are "taker states". E.g. New York receives about $.80 per $1.00 of federal taxes it pays whereas South Carolina for example receives $1.35 per $1.00 of federal taxes it pays.

Btw; The Tax Foundation (the source of the study) explained how Veta's conclusions are false.

"The spending-to-tax ratios are driven by demographic factors like the age of the population and the average income, not governors and state legislators."

http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/24471.html

So based on the source of the information; tax dollars spent are based on age and income; not politicians.

Btw; Veta when are you gonna give up the whole DEM vs GOP thing? Get over it dude.

You are even stooping to the level of turning completely irrelevant studies into DEM vs GOP kabuki theater.

You don't require rose shaded glasses to see that both parties are pretty terrible.

Thanks, chloe, especially the spreadsheet link. I am puzzled: why is expenditure/tax ratio in DC about 5.0-6.0 while it is range of 0.8 - 2.0 in the states? Probably because the government's capital maintenance expenditures on itself. The figures would probably have more meaning if capital maintenance expenditures are excluded.

I still like Obama because some imperfect healthcare insurance reform is better than no healthcare insurance reform
