My favorite part was when he said Obama doesn't have a clue followed by him shutting down the other guy by saying "yes, but nobody in the UK wants to work". |

at 1:50 PM, Tuesday October 11, 2011 EDT lol, when he said that the people working for minimum and really low wage was not contribution to the economy, because they didn't pay taxes, right after he had said that people needed to work more for less money.
the only reason they can work this cheap is because of no taxes, and the profit goes directly to the owners |

Faber did touch on something I've recently also pondered, namely the environmental regs and how they clearly present impediments to our domestic manufacturing and Industry overall. Loosen them up if only for a duration with iron clad provisions they be re-introduced at specific intervals later on would give us similar incentives China has and continues to enjoy. Not saying we should or shouldn't, nor am I actually "endorsing" the idea but I am suggesting it could in fact produce some fairly quick results in terms of stimulus. Couple years of this considering how long we've been fuckin shit up, I dunno, might even turn up relatively negligible in the long run. Just somethin I been kickin around is all. Jeremy Grantham's comments (co founder of BMO) on this in respect to china & emerging markets had always stood out for me. Worth the listen if you can manage through it. |
