The KDICE Constitution:
We the Players of KDIce, in Order to form a more perfect gaming environment, establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, and promote the General Welfare, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the KDIce players of the World.

Article I. The MOD Squad

MODs shall be elected for the players, by the players, and to serve the players.

On the 1st of every month, an election will be held for new MODs . On the 2nd of every month, the new MODs will take office.

Eligible Active Players* with a Clean Record* may nominate themselves to run for the position of MOD.

The number of MODs needed is to be determined by Ryan each month. However, there shall always be an odd number off MODs.

The most Senior Moderator shall act as President of the Moderators*. In the event of equal seniority across the MOD squad – a public vote will be taken between the MODs to determine the President of the MODs.

Active Players* seeking a MOD position with the most votes by the end of the 1st of each month shall be inaugurated to their respective positions.

Article II The duties / responsibilities of the MOD Squad

All players wishing to add / update an Avatar, will submit their avatar to the Review Process. This review process will be done with due diligence, and generally all avatars shall be reviewed by one of the MODs within two (2) days. Once the Avatar has been accepted, it will be displayed.

MOD’s shall retain the right to ban or revoke the privileges of players that break the rules of KDICE. Not only will the username(s) of the guilty be blocked, but the Public IP address(s) of the user will be blocked as well.

Banning durations will no longer be arbitrarily assigned. They will be as follows.

Racist – Sexist – Bigoted comments in open forum / chat: Banned Indefinitely. Deletion of account, trophies, records, etc.

Harassment – Threats – six (6) month ban. Deletion of account, trophies, records, etc.
Pornagraphic Imagery (that slips through the review process) – two (2) week ban.

PGA or Game to Game Favors – If a player is suspected of a PGA or Game to Game Favor the moderators will be given one (1) week to review the facts of the case. The MODs will then submit their verdicts to the President of the Moderators. Each MOD will cast a vote for Guilty or Innocent and a brief summary of how they came to their verdict. All MODs must vote, and their vote and logic will be posted in open forum. If any MOD fails to vote, the MOD’s will be said to have been hung, and the defendant shall be found NOT GUILTY. In the event of a tie Vote between the mods, the President of the MODs* shall vote to break the tie. This is the only circumstance in which the President of the MODs* shall vote.
In the event that a player is found GUILTY of PGA or Game to Game Favors, they may Appeal the Case. All information that was made available for the MODs to base their verdict on will be provided to the Player in Appeal. This information will be posted on open forum for thirty (30) days, in which an open dialogue will be held in the FORUMS. The player in appeal will have the ability to Blog in the Forum during this period (not be able to play KDICE). At the conclusion of the thirty (30) day period, a re-vote will be held by the current MOD Squad. The verdict of this vote will be final with no further appeal allowed.

Guilty of PGA or Game to Game Favors – Banned indefinitely (all known Usernames and IPs), deletion of account, trophies, etc.

Article III – The Rights of the KDICE Community

KDICE players maintain the right to play in a fun, non-racist, non-bigoted, non-threatening environment.

KDICE players will submit their votes for the MOD squad by the end of the 1st of each month.

KDICE players shall be able to report rule violations to the MOD squad. All legitimate reports will be looked into and replied to. A new section to the page will be added for players to be able to submit rule violations, questions, concerns, etc. to the MOD squad.

DEFINITIONS
Active Player - Someone who has at least six (6) consecutive months of at least fifteen (15) games played per month, with a clean record.
Clean Record - Having never been found guilty of breaking the rules of the KDICE.
President of the Moderators – The Moderator with the most experience / tenure. For the first Squad of MODs and in the case of all new MODs, a vote will be held internally by the MODs do determine the President of the Moderators. This information will immediately be made public to the KDICE community.

I like the idea but I think mods should have longer terms, maybe 3 months.

All comments to the Constitution are valid. Should not be made up of the opinion of a single player.

I seek to end the arguing, racist, sexist, rude comments as well as the 'us' versus 'them' atmosphere between the players and the mods.

Im of opinion that it should be 1 month. But I believe the MODs should not be allowed to play KDICE during their office also.

The only part I can agree with is permaban/ removal of all trophies for PGAs.

Other than that, your system sounds pretty useless as it'd be impossible to prove that someone cheated and even then the most "popular" players would get away with it. Also, for the whole democratic election thing, lemme proxy myself or ask my friends to vote me and voila - free pass to screw people.

Then again, I should probably slap myself for taking this seriously. Or get dickslapped.

Though I think DC was right that this is not worth a comment, I'll drop a couple of lines just to point out the utter stupidity of this. BTW - double post ==> double comment

As there is absolutely no means of realising a one person one vote scheme on this, a single frequent players withouth a life would be able to impersonate all mods and live out his grudges. This scheme is total bullshit. And there is persons with several accounts in top 100 every month.

Banning IPs is so braindead with dial in and changing IPs with every new dialing. I'll dial some dumbshit's IP next time and am banned for unknown reasons and can hardly do something about it.

Interesting that porn images deserve less punishment than harrassment or sexist comments (and we can discuss endlessly where porn starts and harrassment ends, as we all know), while the only case of hard cheating and breaking the rules and ruining the game (PGA) requires an endless procedure to ban the cheater for a comparibly short period of tim. Can I detect a bias of the original poster here?

well, I don't like this suggestion, but within it, there are things that has to change

"If any MOD fails to vote, the MOD’s will be said to have been hung, and the defendant shall be found NOT GUILTY."

should be at least changed to
"if any MOD fails to vote, they will count as having voted NOT GUILTY"

otherwise, 8 mods could vote for banning, while the last one can block it by not voting. while if he did vote, the ban would happen.

this rule basically gives every mod veto power.

we don't need a "polish parliament", that would just make the mods even less efficient.

on the side of that, your punishments are too harsh.

I'd much, much rather Ryan spend his valuble timing coding new things for this site instead of babysitting a mod election every month.

Also, 1 week to review PGA and have a vote? Really? So for the last 6 days of the month people can PGA the fuck out of each other and not have to worry about repercussions till the following month? You assume Ryan will take the time to review who should have medals taken away each month. Again, I'd rather him spend his free time coding for the site, not babysitting the egos of KDice.

And why would you ban longer for hate remarks than for harrassment, and longer for harrassment than PGA? That makes ZERO sense. Would I get jail time for calling someone the N word in real life? No. Would I get jail time for harrassing someone in real life? Maybe. Would I get jail time for trying to cheat the system (stealing, avoiding taxes, etc.)? Hell yes.

All this over a warning...

Never mind the part about not punishing for PGA, I reread your statement and see the permaban.

Two things to mention on your thoughts about PGA:

1. Your lone supporter in your threads (veta) would not be around to support you as he's had overwhelming evidence of cheating in the past.

2. Permabans don't work. Players make another account. IP blocks don't work. Players get a new IP. Banning a player over, and over, and over again doesn't work. I'll use your new friend veta as the example for this again. He's probably had a few hundred accounts banned here and he's still around.

In short, just go back to playing KDice. You were warned, not banned. Get over it.

the only bans that an egotistical player is affected by are:

1) cursed luck
2) removing his successful history

big ego players will NEVER want their history removed. they enjoy being in the spotlight. so creating new accts and proxying just aint worth it if they know all the new players they meet wont understand how great they really are.

the only downside is that once you revoke their privileges in this way, there's a slight chance that instead of just walking away from the game since they know they got caught, they might turn psycho and decide they need to destroy the community however they can, just to spite Ryan/mods. this has happened a handful of times, but usually the offender loses his momentum after a few months.
