Hi everyone,
I have a strategy question about deals to fight for 1/3, 2/4, etc.. Suppose we have three players. Suppose the players are arranged as A,B,C. A is touching B. B is touching C. But A is not touching C. So, A, B, and C are in a straight line in that order. A and B are roughly equal in strength and C is relatively weaker. C is intermittently hitting B, so B offers a deal to C. He says: Let me and A fight for 1st / 3rd. Is this a good deal for A? If this is not a good deal for A, what should he do? Thanks for strategy advice. |

Anyway; this is a question about what A should do not what C should do. |

at 2:35 PM, Friday August 12, 2011 EDT not if A makes the offer to C. depends how weak C is. is this like a 10/10/7 split or 11/11/5? makes a big difference. it's a question of what A should do. A should offer C second, which is what I said.

at 3:18 PM, Friday August 12, 2011 EDT This is a classic situation where C needs to sell his position. He should tell B that he wants 2nd and he'll let B fight freely for 1st. If B accepts and A says "fuck that", then C could offer to help B and continue to sell his position. If B refuses the offer, C can try to sell A that he'll help him get 1st by killing B.
Of course, all this is null and void if B simply flags to A. But C's manipulative skills will be the deciding factor of this end-game. |

A should hit B and extract a flag out of B. If B doesn't flag, then A should keep hitting. If B flags, he should let B and C fight for 2nd. Is that more or less reasonable? |

then A should backstab C at the end and take 1 geegee. |
