I'm bored with the forum right now.
Meet Conan! He is my family's dog. He's a cairn terrier (like Toto in the Wizard of Oz), only he is giant. He weighs about 35 pounds, and he's obviously quite large for his breed since toto was average size. He doesn't like the noise his tags make, so we got a little thing to put them in so they're quiet. http://bit.ly/n8c0QO I think he's pretty cute, but he's a fatty... http://bit.ly/nX4qsW When we clean, all his toys get put on his bed. Apparently it is a lot of effort to take them off. When he was a puppy, he would climb onto the dishwasher to lick our plates. http://bit.ly/pB1XV6 He likes the snow: http://bit.ly/pQjTqO but does not like getting wet: http://bit.ly/rhUyk8 He likes to hide things in the couch. http://bit.ly/oqxcbb He also really does not mind if you put things on his head. There are lots of pictures of him wearing hats, but this is my favourite. http://bit.ly/oqlLgr He wears bandanas sometimes and has giant ears. http://bit.ly/qPJXZ1 They were worse before he grew into them. http://bit.ly/oUEXgY Whaaaat kind of dogs do you have? Also, Conan is the cutest dog ever. discuss. (kehoe I expect stories about Gizmo :P) |

at 8:00 AM, Tuesday July 19, 2011 EDT Maddie, Golden Retriever, almost 9. She really took a backseat when Jr. showed up, but she has taken it well and is now best buddies with him. She has no issues with being used as a stool for him to crawl up on furniture, i think mainly because she gets all sorts of goodies that fall from his highchair.

at 9:46 AM, Tuesday July 19, 2011 EDT my wife is allergic to dog hair, and grew up being scared of dogs... so my only shot at getting one is when my boys grow up a little bit more. maybe i can guilt her into giving them a pet dog for a bday in a few years, at least thats my plan.
(sadly no pics) i got brows when i turned 6. she was an english setter, and we only had like 1/3 acre for her to run on, so she was always restless. would always figure out ways to jump the back fence, and then dad would have to chase her down for hours to get her back. dad would let her out at 6am when he went to work, and mom would let her back in at 7am when we woke up to get ready for school. being a good hunting dog, one morning she happily gave mom a rabbit she had killed in our backyard. another morning she came back with a deer leg (?!?). sadly, dad switched jobs when i was 11, and we moved onto a high school campus, where there we had no yard, so brows couldnt come. i was heartbroken. we left her with my best friend, whose parents were vets and owned 9 acres of woods. a few years ago, that friend tracked me down for the first time in like 17 years. i asked how did brows do. "I seem to recall she became sickly and didn't live many years." still struggle with that. :( |

at 12:57 PM, Tuesday July 19, 2011 EDT cairns also don't shed so if you're looking for a small dog, they're a good option. My dad realllly did not want a dog but now that we have one he loves him more than anything except his kids.
