Chloe's Dom Study: A formula to calculate your dom points

fuck you muthafucka

but no really. I need your help! Here's what you can do:
1) Download some screen recording software (eg camstudio)
2) Turn on game details in your settings if you don't already have them on
3) Record dom games (ie 500 2k and 5k)
4) Email the files to me at [email protected] or upload them to youtube and link me

pretty simple right? I don't care who is playing, or if you happen to be playing a game you record. I just need more data so I can actually compose a formula.

wait, it's ok for people to just record and upload and email you the link?

you don't need help in extracting land amount data for each round right?

good luck Chloe

P.S. I posted some good camstudio settings in my avisorblog/75 so the files don't get too big without cutting back too much on the quality to view. Also, use a DivX encoder on top of it so the file size gets reduced even more.

it'd be nice if people could do that but I think it'd be easier for me to just record the data myself in my formatting instead of trying to explain the formatting I want to everyone or taking their formats and converting it to mine. also yes read jurgen's blog post yay.

Here is the relevant part:

There are other free videocap programs in http://kdice.com/discussion/topics/44802937 but I can recommend Camstudio the most. It’s a very good, easy to use, free, open source solution where you even can select the Kdice region of the screen only to save diskspace : http://www.camstudio.org/CamStudio20.exe

I used the settings of 10 frames per second, 60 quality and 0,75 time/quality to result in descent quality video. I recommend installing the program and doing some tests of the settings in advance so you won’t screw up the moment you want to capture something fishy.

The settings I used need about 10Mb per minute of Kdice game (only the Kdice area captured) so a typical Kdice game would be 120 - 200 Megs total. With a free divX encoder (http://freedivxconverter.com/) you could easily reduce the size to 1/5 of the avi size so 25 – 40 Mb for one game. Those filesizes are easy to upload to youtube or with the help of free file uploaders such as http://www.rapidshare.com/ or http://www.megaupload.com/ or http://www.mediafire.com/ or http://filefactory.com/

I also need input about how often data points are taken in a single game: is after each round sufficient?

Chloe; it is also possible to use my script to automate the recording of this data.

I have 100s of users; it should produce a lot of data. I just need pseudo-code and i can do the rest.
