Scrap the REVIEWS

I call to scrap the reviews in favour of an anonymous rating system. It seems to me the reviews section serves merely as a negative outlet and actually builds frustration amongst players.

Before you judge me for being a 'noob' you should know that I canceled my old account and quit playing Kdice for about 6 months because of all the hating going on.

I came back because I like the game, but I feel it happening again.

Any other suggestions?

I like the idea of a rating system though.

the anonymous rating system would lead to the same issue as the review section i think. I could be wrong though (let's hope that i am :P)

@CCSKAOT
Lol. Exactly. Just played a normal game, then got that abuse. It just seems silly that I should have my own page of personal abuse for a game that I like to play!

@Crazy Smurf
I know that most people would use the rating system to vote you the lowest score they could, but at least it wouldn't get personal all the time! Just seems like the reviews section is nothing but nasty.

deadcodes review/rating approach would be the closest you can get to a good working system

giving you the ability to only look at your own ratings, to add the reviews of the people you flagged as trustworty raters (mostly friends i guess), or to include everybody's rating

imo: any rating or review system has the potential to be abused. That being said, the system that's in place is far less useful than almost any other system I have seen- and is also abused: very very few people leave positive reviews. I'd just like to see a system that doesn't require wading through walls of text... For example, using the dc tools, a list of what the player is tagged as most frequently.

dasfury
Backstabber: 55 times
Capable of trucing: 24 times
Silent truces: 15 times
Pro: 12 times

something like that.

I hope it changes. The problem is that in ALL walks of life (not just KDice) a person is 10 times more likely to leave a bad review for a bad service, than a good review for a good one. That doesn't even take into account the warped sense of fairness that some KDice players have! Basically anybody can, and will, accuse you of terrible things because they are fat and lonely or don't understand the game.

I see no benefit in each of us having a personal wall that purely represents the horrible thoughts of others. Imagine having to show such information in any other social situation? Imagine any new girlfriend you got was able to read all the things ex-girlfriends had written or thought about you? It makes no sense.
