I am in the process of changing office locations and I want to set up a network so that all our computers can communicate. I have a router, but our internet hasnt been connected yet. The linksys install wiz is demanding that i get a hard connection to ethernet.

I just want it to be a LAN. How do i go about setting this up. I have looked online for answers and i love you all

Can you do this without the wizard?

The router should throw IP Addresses right out of the box. you hook it up you hook up the computers have them all set to DCHP they should request IP address from the router.

It will probably take a hard Ethernet connection at first to setup the router for wireless but just plug one of the computers into the router open a web browser and browse to the ip address of the router (Usually in teh manual) it will be something like 192.168.1.1 Then turn on the wireless and bam you have a network just no internet gateway
