at 3:02 PM, Thursday June 2, 2011 EDT The cops seemed semi courteous; so I guess that was a plus.
But I can't get over the fact that the Feds are now trying to make it illegal to record public areas and police on camera. This is a recipe for disaster. |

at 3:09 PM, Thursday June 2, 2011 EDT We really need a serious re-education of our police force, they spend way too much time on petty shit like this instead of actually analyzing situations for real threats.
Fuck the TSA well we are talking about shit I hate as well. Fuck I hate Police, well I understand why they act like they do sometimes they really need to treat people with a presumption of innocence. |

at 3:18 PM, Thursday June 2, 2011 EDT there have been several articles about this very topic in Maryland. Truth: Maryland is an all-parties-consent state. That is, a private conversation can only be recorded if all parties consent. ALSO TRUTH: This DOES NOT hold for conversations in public places (with no expectation of privacy).
ALSO TRUTH: Maryland DoT officials have said that these officers were incorrect: Maryland Department of Transportation officials, including MTA Administrator Ralign T. Wells, say they agree, that the agency's employees were misinformed and that people are free to take non-commercial photographs and video of light rail or any other mode of public transportation. Mr. Wells promised to instruct his officers of that fact and hopes to avert a possible ACLU lawsuit. from: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/editorial/bs-ed-mta-photography-20110602,0,6046710.story The same thing occurred earlier this year to a man named Olev somethingorother from Pennsylvania, in February iirc. |
