how many times have you gambled at casinos, and what games have you played?

stratosphere sucks ass, from what i hear, and its a hike to get south to the nicer casinos.

ive only been to vegas once and AC a couple times. heres my advice:

play craps. make a come bet, and put full odds behind it. do NOT bet the dont pass line, as that is betting on the house. craps is by far the most fun game because its a bunch of strangers against the house. when you lose, its okay because everyone else is losing. when you win, it quickly becomes an orgy of awesomeness, with high fives/fist bumps, you name it. it is fucking awesome. you need to be properly rolled for a game though. if you can find a $5 table, great, you can survive on a cold craps table for awhile with $250 on a $5 table. $10 table, i would lay down $400 max.

the biggest problem with craps is if youre a rookie, its intimidating because of all the complex ways you can bet. easy easy way around this. as soon as you sit at the table, tell the dealer, HEY im a rookie, please help me through this. in my experience dealers do not like people who act like they know everything, and screw shit up. they LOVE people who admit they dont know shit, and let the dealer help them through the process. especially if you tip them $5 here or there when the table gets hot and youre making money.

if you have a bad run, if the table starts to go cold (whether craps or BJ or whatever), color up your chips, go on a walk. ESPECIALLY in vegas. that town is fuckin amazing. get the fuck away from the table. walk around the wynn (its sick). walk through caesars. walk through the bellagio, or paris. people watch. walk into a tiffanys if you have a ladyfriend with you, and make her try on some jewelry. after you cool down from your loss, then you can get back to the tables.

okay tl;dr

CLIFFS:
1) play craps
2) ask dealers to hold your hand, they will
3) when tables cool off, stop the gambling IMMEDIATELY (dont wait till your whole stack is gone) and walk around, enjoy the city.
4) have a max stoploss for your total time there

and hoe is right, DRINK.
most all of the strip casinos will offer "free" drinks while youre sitting at any table. wait for a girl to walk by, order some vodka&tonic, wait a couple minutes for her to come back with it, and toke her $2 in whites. some people are cheap and only do $1, thats fine, whatever you want. gambling is way less stressful when you have some good liquor in your system.

also, get players cards if you dont have them. if you play enough, you can start asking floor managers if you can get some comped meals.

and that stoploss thing for your whole time in vegas... dont view it as a loss, view it as budgeted for entertainment.

when i went to vegas, my wife allowed me $500 on the tables. i ran it up to $1100 at one point, but in the end walked out of vegas with $150. i saw that as $150 in profit, not $350 in loss. really helps to have this mindset. whatever you set your stoploss at, consider it completely lost as soon as you get to vegas.

not sure if youre in a serious relationship. if you are, whenever you are running hot, and have a few hundred in profit, go straight to the mall, to tiffanys or to some store your chick really likes, and BUY A PRESENT. that way she associates your gambling with very nice presents for her. instead of associating your gambling with depression/moneyloss. very important in the long run if you want to make it a regular thing.

Man, once a hooker asked a drunk me if I wanted her to get me a drink and I said yes and gave her my tab. At the end of the night, paying my way out, I was like WTF I NEVER ORDERED A $20 DRINK, but no dice. What a jackass.
