If anybody is interested i getting involved in 2k & 5k team games with specific sides. We can Have Europe, USA, Rest of World teams. I think this will add another edge to the higher pts tables and some more fun. Thanks to the legendary HC Dug for introducing me to team games..different tactics and fun. C'mon lets give it a go and see if we can come up with some timetables of weekly play.

How do you solve the problem that it will always be a 4v3 (the team with only 3 players most likely will have a disadvantage)?

Anyway... count me in as soon as I have enough points...

I wouldn't mind a mod team, especially if it's with Sam and Shev. Maybe with Thrax too but then I need to have proof he hasn't become too rusty at this game :D.

I know the higher tables give the extra thrill but maybe you guys better keep it on the 500 tables to reduce point impact. In fact I don't know if it's even officially allowed to do the team games?

Regardless of rules against team games or not, I love them. Would it be so hard to get a few 4,6, 8 and 9 player tables (maybe without points and without point caps for sitting) to be creative and come up with some great team or other games?

moon, you can have a neutral guy (who can't interfere and takes 4th with a score close to 0 if possible)

or you can have a 4 player team and a 3 player team. In some team games we played earlier, teams were decided as follows: 1st player who can play + the next 2 is team A, the other 4 are team B. You can also do A1 B1 A2 B2 A3 B3 B4 to make it balanced in another way.

If you don't want neutral players but want 2 same size team you can also do this: one team sits 4 players (red purp blue and teal), one team sits green yellow and brown. The game starts normal and the random start position decides which 4th player from the big team doesn't play. The last player to play from the 4player team cant play (unless the unlikely evenet that one of his other 3 team players is killed before it's his turn). Ideally the dropped off person can't be killed and should get 4th or something.

Team games are fine as long as all 7 people at the table agree without undue coercion, otherwise I will be happy to ban everyone at the table that tried to force it on someone that didn't want to.

yup, I agree with that, unless team games become a cover up for point funnels.

Make sure you decide beforehand how 1 2 3 will be decided at the end (roll offs, most dom, you alternate 1 2 3/2 3 1/3 1 2/ 1 2 3 and so on. Something I have never seen before but which might help keep these team games strictly for fun is give 1st to lowest ranked team member, 2nd to 2nd lowest, 3rd to highest ranked. Also less risk of the lowest ranked team member dropping under the 2k/5k limit.

I only get better with my time off, mainly because I don't give a fuck if I piss anyone off on the tables. I play half-way serious about once every 6 or 7 months now......rock the stat line.......then semi-retire again.

I'll be happy to team up with anyone and kick some ass.

Oh, wait.....I don't have 2k!!!

eh, if you gonna have "with anyone" standards, I am gonna look for higher demanding team mates :P

but yeah, you rock at "rocking the stat line and semi-retiring again"

I love the idea of team games. I brought this idea up before but I don't think it got much attention. What I proposed was a league night. You can have teams of 3 or 4 people that sign up for a team and then sign up for a certain night and play in a league against other teams. If a person can't show, the spaces are neutral but the team can still play. You can play best out of 3 games and it most likely won't take that long.

There's alot of ways you can go with this too. You can make it a month long and once a week at the same time every night so people can sign up for when they're free. You can charge league fees to make money ($5 a person), give out trophies for top 3 teams of that league, and award points for taking 1st, 2nd, etc.

I think alot of people would play and it would be good for the site. Just an idea.
