This is a stupid waste of time and money all around.

It is certainly not a waste of time and money, as the painting can be done by fairly untrained workers. It will thus help the economy by government spending, reduced unemployment and so on.

The backdraw of increased deficit spending will then hit a futur government - but that has never been the issue of any government any place. Thoughts about the futur undertaken by governments reach the next election if they are very deep and long striving thoughts.

The issue isn't the efficacy of keyenesian economic louis, that has proven self evident many times over. The issue is the blatant hypocrisy among Republican party leadership which has on multiple occasions noted that cutting spending and not creating jobs are its focus.
