ERROR: When I copied dirtyroll's stats into my spreadsheet, I left off the percent sign for his sevenths. His real net dom is -0.07, not -0.20.

I think the fact that such a pedestrian players is at the top of this list speaks to how poor of a measurement of anything this stat actually is.

Well never mind that first part then, I'm just having trouble understanding what this measures?

I am also uncertain as to what this measures, but players tend to stay in the same relative places rather than move around a lot, so it must be measuring something. The -0.06 average might be truncation error. The flagfest fractions that serve as the datum are 4/28, 4/24, 4/20, 4/16, 4/12, 4/8, and 4/4. To one decimal place, these are 14.2, 16.7, 20.0, 25.0, 33.3, 50.0, and 100.0. Truncated, they would be 14, 16, 20, 25, 33, 50, 100. Since Ryan tends to used truncated percentages, the dom may be the result of truncated percentages. So the datum may need to be similarly truncated. The difference between the truncated and untruncated data would have the greatest impact for sixth place, then third, then seventh. I will try working the same scores with the truncated datum. The effect on the standings of the top 100 is likely haphazard, but the mean of the standings should be closer to .... what?

Another thing to consider, other than truncation, is the effect of the map having a number of countries not evenly divisible by 7. Suppose we have a map with 27 countries. Then, in a flagfest, seventh would flag out with only three lands. The flagfest datum would be 3/27, 4/24, etc.

Considering seventh only, the flagfest datum, for the number of countries on the map, would be

This new stat fooled me for a sec since I got excited it might be something measuring dirtiness of rolls or something


You can imagine the disappointment after finding out it was yet another dom recalculation :P

I have reworked the stats, correcting for table size (assuming a uniform distribution in table sizes from 25 to 42 countries) and truncation, and get this (with dirtyrolls in the right place)

The correction is not big enough to affect the leaders; towards the middle of the pack you start to see some differences in the standings. Whatever this statistic measures, jurgen is close to null (which results if you haven't played any games, or if you have only first places).

tbh I think there would be a lot of interesting stats to make if the profile had a seperate luck%, dom, att/def value for the tourneys as well.

another stat for tourneys should be avg place you finish each game (corrected for starting # players of course)

I'll post this part in kakku's luck script thread since he might be able to add this stat before Ryan will (but it needs some discussion on how it would be best to calculate it)

If we could have raw numbers attack/defends instead of ratios those stats would be much more powerful.
