Are you Republicans on here supporting your party through the blocking of the 9/11 first responders health bill, or is this something you aren't supporting?

Ummm Obviously you know NOTHING about politics because otherwise you would know this.

Last week, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) released a letter signed by every Senate Republican pledging to block all legislative action until Congress acts on the expiring Bush tax cuts and passes a measure to fund the federal government into 2011.

Typical attempt to goad me into a response that favors Republicans and then attack my morality. I know that if you had your way JP, that every American would get absolutely everything they wanted from our federal government all the time. We simply don't live in that world son. I'm sure there hundreds of other "just causes" and "moral obligations" our government could embark upon, but the GOP had their sights set on other priorities such as extending the tax cuts (which is now supported by your boy Obama), trimming deficit spending, and now more recently, getting rid of the usual earmarks off of a democrat spending bill.

Do I appreciate those that worked and sacrificed on 9/11? Absolutely. Do I feel sorry for those that have developed health issues from events on that day? Sure I do. Is today's frail economy a time to spend $7 billion on funding this first responders health bill? Probably not. Besides, what the fuck could they be spending $7 BILLION on?

Thats bullshit. They are not even doing there job, because of one stupid fucken bill. They should probably put this aside and work on the other issues at least, but they feel that this such an important issue that they have stop everything until this is passed? Thats outrageous!

Obama supports this just so he can get something done, instead of having nothing done. He doesn't support the idea itself, but he does support the deal that has been made in order for the other bills attached to this to pass(mainly the relief for the 99ers).

And tax breaks for ppl over 5mil. ? Really? Thats fucked up! Why tax at all? Well kids, taxes is what gives us these nice paved roads, libraries and other neat stuff that contribute to our society. I really don't mind paying taxes to seeing a clean park or a good school facility. We should be focusing on education, thats what are economy really depends on in the long term. Education for the poor and rich should be equal, that way democracy will stay in check. Instead we are going to have a aristocracy which rules this country at the pace we are going.

Vash I would say they are doing their job a bit better than before.

I would rather the gov just shut down if it wants to keep spending like jackasses. It's cheaper on our grandchildrens wallets that way. And really the gov can go on RECESS and does your life change? NO If that were the case we wouldn't celebrate x-mas.

better doesn't mean good, they need to start doing things for the 99 percent of us who live in this country, instead of bowing down to corporate interest. Most of our politicians are cowards and selfish. I mean really, "its my money, I shouldn't pay taxes" argument is flawed. Its selfish and greedy, and the christian principles that The Right rides on(even though there should be a separation between church and state) reject these notions of selfishness and greed. Shameful I tell you. This is seen with such clarity too. Ya, you can be Republican, and I won't hate you(I respect the principles), but I do hate the people who are elected to this party who are at best semi-retarded(except Ron Paul, I really respect that bastard for sticking with his principles and being honest).

For you Republicans to defend the actions of your party, which probably at best do nothing for you and at worst, fuck you over makes me wonder? I don't know why you support these people who have been elected to the house, have the shit they say is bat crazy. The public really needs to be more aware, its the public's fault for letting this happen, but hopefully we will eventually get our shit together and elect the right people into office one day(maybe next election, who knows!)

@ Yodel - Christmas**** you shouldn't take out the whole foundation of the Holiday!

@ Vash - you're goddamn right, it's my money I should get to keep it! Oh and that whole separation of church and state thing? WTF are you even talking about? All that means is that there shouldn't be a law establishing a religion, or a religion limiting or prohibiting any religion from being practiced.
Christian principles are what the country was founded on, and running a country with those principles is in no way a violation of the 'separation of church and state'

that said... Christian principles are based on kindness and charity, but there's nothing in these principles or in the Bible requiring people that earn an honest living to support the sector of the community that spends the money the government gives them on drugs and alcohol. Turning the other cheek is one thing, financially supporting the group of people most likely to rob me late at night of the money that would have eventually gone to them anyways...completely different.

Get a pocket constitution you twat waffle. Better yet lets have a knife swallowing contest, you go first.

fiero, good point on the separation of church and state, but what I really meant was that the Reps are hypocrites to the principles they "say" they follow. Good job, you might pass the bar!

Second, I am saying that the rich should pay there fair share of taxes, so we have better education and other basics. I never mentioned anything about charity to homeless/druggies/alcoholics, etc, and in fact, I mentioned that they should do something for the 99 percent of us, and not just the 1 percent. I doubt 99 percent of the country is made up of druggies and alcoholic who are bums scrapping for charity. We pay our fair share, and so should the billionaires in this country.

Also, eat shit and die you fucken twat, cum dumpster, shit face, ass monster, bag of dick eating piece of shit.

READ THE WHOLE THING AND LOOK AT THE CONTEXT, YOU JUST SAW ONE THING AND TORE WHAT I SAID APART. NOW GET BACK TO YOUR STUDIES BEFORE YOU FAIL DUMBASS! IF YOU DO THIS IN REAL LIFE AS A LAYWER, I HOPE YOU GET YOUR ASS OWNED. ONE MORE THING, GO FUCK YOURSELF.
