I sit in as teal in a 500 table and the game starts. There is a tremendous amount of chat that is mostly cryptic to me, non-game related and difficult to folow. Then within the first two rounds there is lots of talk of "countering" someone. The discussion was very unclear, with many colours being mentioned. I ask several times who is truced and who is countering, and no one gives me a clear answer. I had a good start and was in a position for first or second. Within the next few rounds, I soon find out that five of the players were in fact "countering" myself and brown, who I had spent the first few rounds attacking. They insisted that I flag no higher than sixth and worked together to kill me off.
The five users who "countered" me in round 2 were: Smurf You Boner Oiler snow leopard J Awesome CockBlock I am quite bewildered about this. Can someone explain this to me? |

at 2:26 AM, Thursday November 18, 2010 EST yes, pwned in chat, but as usual the long version from me:
This is comparable to a wolf pack attack or a hyena pack attack. Alone, they don't stand a chance. But together and with well coordinated attacks they can slowly bring you down. Basically you got taken down by a group of players who like to take a gamble and did not want to sit and do nothing and get 2 or 3 maximum. It's hard to explain, you know what it is when you get more experience, you will learn how to not get killed by it and maybe even learn how to use it yourself. You don't describe accurate enough what happened between you and brown (he flagged, you ok'ed?, you didn't do an obvious attack on him after he flagged?, etc). Many possibilities and some players only need one small thing/excuse to turn a flag or a move into a pretend truce and "counter" it. You asking in the chat who truced showed them you had no clue of what they were doing. Basically you appeared weak enough to gang up on. Also you need to know your player community better. Just because these are fairly "new" accounts, doesn't mean they are noobs. I would have known in advance for all 5 that they aren't affraid of a bit of "risk" to try for a better position. |

at 3:22 AM, Thursday November 18, 2010 EST all the answers you got are wrong, the 5 players you have mentioned are a part of a pga group who use msn to chat, and attack you and you cant do nothing about it

at 3:38 AM, Thursday November 18, 2010 EST game in question was chatpwn.
but i do find it comical that troy, who by the way made a post about setting up a pga team via aim & msn, would accuse others of doing such a thing. just feel i had to point out the ironic track record of the most ardent pga-mccarthyist in contemporary kdice (since yodel has now become complacent). |

at 3:46 AM, Thursday November 18, 2010 EST 500 tables is where the PGAing starts for real. the only way to try to avoid it and have fun games is to steer clear of 500 and above.
