TEAM GAMES

I just finished a horrible time at a 2k table.
Apparently, some of the kdice regulars have decided to make team games on the 2k's. The concept sounds fine. The gameplay would be fine. The rules are suspect, but ultimately...fine What was not fine, was that at least three of the players had NO IDEA what was going on until it was too late. Teaming up ended up knocking us all in points and wasted our time. IF we wanted to play a team game, we would've. The problem was that this was not adequately disclosed before the game began. We had no idea when we sat that we would be in a team game. I, for one, browsed to kdice. Found a 2k table, and sat immediately. I wasn't in the table, let alone following the chat, long enough to know what I was in for. If you're going to play a team game. That's fine by me. This is just like when crys and clarke decided to team up for fun on 500 tables last month. Have your fun, thats fine. Just let me know beforehand, so I can make the decision to be a part of it or not. I think that's fair. Crys' argument both times was that its just internet points, so don't sweat it. Good point. However, if I didn't sweat internet points I wouldn't waste so much time on this site! Maybe, it's just me but I find the competition (the points) enjoyable and so I do spend time here. Losing them without any rhyme or reason on a higher stakes table isn't my idea of fun. Please. If you're going to make a team game, make sure EVERYONE at the table is ok with it FIRST. If they arent, or even if some aren't, don't play a team game. Wait until you can resit, and try again. Be respectful please. |

Personally I wouldn't fuck around with a team game on a 2k table, but thats just me. I can almost promise you if you aren't in the know about it and sit, you are most likely dead from round 1. Ryan really should script a team game type thing. There are tons of posts about it but it wouldn't be difficult. Sit in a seat, at a table labelled TEAM game, and it automatically places you one one (maybe a small bar bottom with the teams listed). Hell you could even make it correlated with the colors... sort of. Red+Blue+Purple on a team. Brown+Green+Yellow on a team. The problem is the tables seat 7. Can't have an even team anyhow. |

at 11:47 PM, Monday November 15, 2010 EST As Sam Stated in the other thread... If I witness a team game where everyone does not know what is happening I will ban on site both main and alts. I despise them as well and I also despise two players decding that PGA on a lower table for fun is ok. that is total crap. I see that and i will ban that as well.
I have my suspicion of team games. Seems an easy way to mask point funneling but...that may be just me. |

at 4:46 AM, Tuesday November 16, 2010 EST Team games are total fun, we played it 2 days ago for almost 3 hours and it was total fun, no one wasnt care for points cause it was to funny and to good, even2 guys from here was played along with me and 4 other guys, i personaly lost around 1k points in that 3 hours but i couldnt care less, I would do it again cause it was total fun, as first, in that kind of game there are no 'favourites' and 'friends' cause your 'favourites and friends' are determinated by the rules! About rules, rules couldn't be clearer and it couldnt be more fair since there is 7 players on table. Rules are simple, first 3 players to start against last 4, at the end wining team roll for spots from 1 to 4 or from 1 to 3 (depends what team wins) no matter of size of team players, ALL ROLL! Cause some guys in team must stay small to not fuck team mate. I know 3 vs 4 isn't never fair but let's be real, how much dices and lands will left to last 4 guys after first 3 finish their turns, so this is most fairest split of the teams if all players are involved into game. That rules are pretty solid and totally cool and as fair as they could be so I wonder what is your problem with them obscure??? It's totally ok if you don't wan't play that kind of game but if most of the table, for example 6 guys like it was that evening want to play team games why they shouldn't play it or why they would got banned cause of just one player??? you simply dont sit at that table where teams games going on and that is it. In my oppinion if 4 or more players (most of the table) decide to play team games the rest of the table should deal with it, same thing if most of the table dont want to play teams guys who want to play teams should deal with it, but if that is team games it should be said at least 5 times before start and at the start of the games cause of new players on table, but team games are total fun if that are real team games and not some fucking jerk off with pga or point funeling!

at 6:02 AM, Tuesday November 16, 2010 EST one way to solve this, is for two of the guys originally promoting the team game to stand up and sit brown & teal after everyone is aware.
also having a line stating the rules for team game ready to copy and paste, so ppl can decide if they want to be part of the game or not. |

at 6:13 AM, Tuesday November 16, 2010 EST you can have a team game if you make it three vs four players
it usually isnt any more helpful to have four players anyways sometimes they just get in the way. |
