Not really sure why I'm defending fake leeeroy, but...
So Thrax (& Verms)-- are fake accounts illegal or not? people were faking Carlisle (now Parian) and fake shadolin and olkainry and plenty of others for a long time before your sudden banhammer. I understand that the fake leeeroy (ieeeroy) has been cheating w/ abernathy and others, so that's fine banning him if he cheats. But your only rationale for banning him was "Fake account of the original leeeroy jenkins." even though I didn't ask for a ban. If fake accts are illegal, fine, say that impersonation using i/l or O/0 or spaces is illegal. But on http://kdice.com/discussion/topics/44776944 you say: C) "fake" accounts are not illegal D) telling me I suck won't help you So in summation-- you suck. |

at 2:56 PM, Friday October 30, 2009 EDT I have banned fake accounts when the original owner has come to me and requested I do so. Many of these alternate accounts with similar appearing names were created to tarnish the name of a real player. (Most of us are capable of getting in trouble without anyone's help.)
It seems to me that a lot of this could be avoided if Ryan would use a different font, or at least check for this issue when an account is created. There is a fake I did not ban (can't remember the name) because the first owner thought it was funny and did not care. |

I leave fakes alone until they cause problems that could effect the way the original account is treated. Mass accusation of PGA plus a stat line like the fake leeeroy had is enough for a ban IMO. Fakes are fine if done in jest AND the original owner is OK with it. Mocking accounts are fine if the original is thick-skinned enough not to care (Thraxleisgay/thraxisgay). |
