If you're getting bored of kdice or just looking for a game that doesn't take a lot of time that is like kdice, this is a great game.
It's basically the same concept as risk, but it's a longer time based game (one turn a day) with politics and 10s of thousands of players. If you spend time on messageboards, it's basically a messageboard game. People fight over control of territories, both politically and militarily. At this time a lot of territories aren't as populated as others (places like Florida have over 5k population, the providence that I live in eJapan has less than 200, and some have less than 100 people) and places like the place I live in need help. Right now this game has been going for about 2/3rds of a year, not too late to get started considering how many people are flocking to this game from facebook and myspace. If you're interested in joining, follow this link. http://www.erepublik.com/en/referrer/JoLock That will get you started. You can go anywhere in the world when you start. Indonesia is the super power in this world, which leads the alliance PEACE, who control about 70% of the map, but alliances tend to break down often and don't last more than 30 or so days. Spain is also a good starting point, with a strong economy and player base. If you're interested in joining us (one of the message boards I frequent) we are in the Kanto providence of eJapan and need more people join. Here are some links to help you if you decide to join: World map made by a modder. Shows what the eRepublik world looks like, who controls what territory, what countries are allied what others, and what resources are where. http://www.egobba.de/ This link is for showing the different materials that are traded from country to country and their exchange rates in the form of gold. You won't have to worry about this until a week or so into the game, but it's an important link to have once you own a business. http://carbonium.pl/market/raw/ind/7 This last link is a link to the thread of the message board I was talking about. There are a lot of experienced players in this game that post there, and this thread is a great resource for advice/keeping up to date on eRepublik affairs. http://www.fohguild.org/forums/mmorpg-general-discussion/39481-erepublik-mmossg.html For starters, when you join, all you need to do is get employed at a minimum wage job (on the job search page, you can sort the list for whatever country you're joining so that it only shows results that require a skill of 0-1). When you get employed, just hit the work link. You only have to do this once a day, if you do it every day for 30 days you get a bonus. Next go to the army tab under my places and train. This will increase your strength which you will need for fighting once you hit level 5 (takes less than a week). You should start to buy low level food early on, but once you hit level 5 you can fight then use hospitals to heal afterward. The area I live in has a top grade hospital, so it allows you to heal 50% of your health each day, so you're able to fight more. If you have any other questions, just post on the forum link I posted, as most of them know a lot about the game, or ask me when you see me around. |
