I have posted baseball-style standings (BSS) from time to time but their weakness is misalignment of the players due to differences in number of games played. All this is explained in more detail on my Wall. In major-league play, misalignment is minimal because only small differences occur among the teams in number of games played. In kdice the misalignments become large.

I have figured out how to correct the misalignments by counting back for each player from the square root of games played rather than total number of games played in calculating games behind. The following shows the top 99 players who played at least one non-tourney game and their GB's under the new system and the old system. The last two players in the list show the effect of either a) playing a lot of games but having a lot of sevenths, or b) not playing enough games.

GB is calculated from the player with the lowest score counting back from 18 x square root of number of games played.

Under the new system, players with high number of games do not gain as much per additional game against those who play fewer games; those with few games gain more (so they can catch up faster).
