People keep talking about flagging and whom I should or shouldn't attack. What is this all about. Are there detailed rules on flagging and basic flagging strategy? From what I can make out, it looks like a way to resign but keep a certain ranking?

flagging is a touchy issue and many people have different views on it. typically if when somebody flags to you, you have a few options. you can accept the flag, not accept it, or remain indifferent to it. its usually nice to let your intentions towards the flag known though.

Have a read of this thread I started: http://kdice.com/discussion/topics/44775818

The only flag I accept is when the little tick box is ticked, and they have actually selected their position.

The verbal flagging in the chat box is NOT flagging... it is in fact asking for a truce, but under the guise of a flag. It's effectively forcing a truce, as the verbal flagger now expects the dominant player to not attack them, and if they do they cry foul... which is bullshit.

Ticking the flag = flagging.
Verbally flagging = truce, and shouldn't ever be respected.
